I woke up to a text.

Morning, darling

Darling? Oh- it must be Ashton

Morning, partner

How did you sleep?

Fine, what about you?

Pretty good, smoking helps

Smoking?

Use your brain, luv

Ahh, that type of smoking.
I've never done it before.

Want to try?

I'm good for now
How did you get my number?

Stole it off of C's phone

Don't get killed
I don't want him to get mad at you

What he doesnt know wont kill him

I set my phone down with a  smile on my face. Ash really is something else. I don't know why I can't get him off my mind. It's driving me crazy. He just has such an alluring personality.

Want me to pick you up on my way to school?

It was Corbin. I assume he wants to talk. I text him a quick reply, letting him know I won't be needing a ride. I'm still angry with him. The way he treated me the other day... It's not the first time. I just wish he would slow down a bit.

I got dressed in some black shorts and white crop top. I really didn't feel like wearing any fancy shoes, so converse it is. I put my hair up, and let a few strands fall around my face. Time to go.

-

First period sucked. We had a test I totally forgot to study for. I've ignored Corbin all day today. Then, 5th period hit and we were partners. He looked at me, scanning my body language.

I was stressed, and cold. I didn't look at him, I know I would just immediately forgive Corbin. I always do. I was working on the classwork while Corbin was texting someone. I tried not to pay attention, but the sudden screech of metal against the floor made it hard. He got up and left. We still have another 15 minutes of class.

"Mister Corbin-"

"Going to the bathroom." The teacher went to protest, but he was already out the door. The door slammed, and I flinched. He's mad I'm ignoring him. Fuck him.

I followed him out the door. I know, I shouldn't have, but I needed to talk to him. I turned the corner, and saw Jess. I sighed in relief, and then I saw her with Corbin, and another kid.

"There's a reason people don't like you, Jack." It was Jess' voice. I saw Corbin punch him. "It's because you're nosey." Corbin punched him again. "And you have a loud mouth." Corbin laughed, and I stood there, frozen, as he beat the shit out of some soccer player.

"Say anything, and you'll get it alot worse than this." It was Corbin talking this time. Say what though? What could be so bad? Corbin let Jack go, and he stumbled away before running in the opposite direction. Then he saw me, Corin saw me.

His eyes softened, but I could still see the blood on his knuckles.

"Dee..." I knew he was rough with people. Hell, I've seen him in several fights. But never, ever, like this. This felt different. And Jess? She's a bitch for sure, but Jack was literally one of her hookups. Her main hookup.
