"How could I ignore you?
Trust me, I adore you
We're swimming through our dreams"

Corduroy Dreams - Rex Orange County

**

They had a typical day at school the following week. The three friends still share the same table every lunch and there's this one time Lisa actually treated Jisoo her favorite chickens. It was actually weird for her because, for so many years of pestering her best friend to treat her, it happened in circumstances she didn't expect. What kind of sorcery is this?

Monday is a normal day for them. Their professor group them into pairs and lucky for Lisa, she was paired with Jennie. Jisoo kept on giving teasing looks at the two of them throughout the time and Lisa was near to drop a bomb at Jisoo but Jennie doesn't even notice a thing.

Tuesday is still the same. While they're eating at their table, someone approached them and it turned out to be Kai.

What a way to ruin the day. That's at least pertained to Lisa.

Just like what she did at the ball, she greeted him with a fake smile and when he's not looking, glaring at him. Jisoo was there amused at how her friend can change her expression at a split second.

Jisoo moved her eyes at Jennie. Her cousin was all smiley at Kai and even offered the empty seat next to them upon noticing all the tables are full.

"You're too kind for your good, cousin" she mumbled.

"What?" Jennie asked.

"What? You saying something?"

"No. I thought you said something"

"No, I did not" Jisoo heave a breath when Jennie left her gaze and focused on her food. Jisoo should stop saying her thoughts out loud.

Kai chatted with them all throughout lunchtime that Lisa's mentally rolling her eyes and complaining internally about how stupid and boring Kai talk.

But Jennie gave a different reaction. She's listening to him attentively like he's some interesting book that caught her attention. Lisa tried sniding a comment but she was ignored. Like an invisible barrier was between the two of them and Jisoo snickered at the annoyed look of Lisa. The only moment she got their attention was when she said she'll go first on their afternoon class and Jisoo tailing her best friend leaving Jennie and Kai alone.

"I thought you're being subtle liking her but from what I see, you're not keeping your cool man" Jisoo put her arms around Lisa as they walk into their classroom.

The afternoon came and classes are almost finished. Jennie came to a little while before afternoon classes started earlier and the three of them planned to walk home together but something unexpected- let me rephrase that, at least for Lisa, it was unexpected, came.

Kai was standing in the hallway doing something on his phone. Upon noticing the students leaving the room, he lifted his gaze and offers a smile at someone.

You don't need to find where he's looking cause he's pretty much here because of a certain girl beside Lisa.

"I'm sorry guys I forgot that I promised him to go somewhere after class"

Jisoo glances at Lisa and made her remark, "Somewhere?"

"Oh, I mean, talk and eat? Something like that but I promise I'll be home before 7" Jennie looks expectantly at Jisoo and latter nods.

"Bye" she slightly tucks her hair in her ear as she approaches Kai and the two went in the opposite direction.

Lisa silently watches their backs as they slowly went gone from the sight.

"So, what now?"

"What?"

Jisoo points at where Jennie took her steps.

"Let's go home, Jisoo"

As much as she'd like to stop Jennie to go with him, what would be her reason? Because I don't like him for you. And if she asks why? Because I like you. There's definitely no way she would admit her feelings that way. She can't.

"But I want to hang out somewhere too"

Lisa looked at her flatly, "You don't say what you're planning to do" a hint tinge in her voice as she looks at Jisoo.

"I think that's a good idea" Jisoo smirked.

"Come again what we're doing here?" Lisa asked and she almost choked at her hotdog when Jisoo shoved a hand onto her.

"Shh! You don't want us to get caught do you?!" Jisoo whisper yelled.

By hanging out, Jisoo means tailing Jennie behind her back. When the duo went to some restaurant along the way, Jisoo dragged Lisa onto a small convenience store in front of it.

Jennie and Kai were seated near the window so it was not hard to spot them.

"What are we doing here again?" Lisa asked for the second time, her voice toned down.

Jisoo did not answer instead kept her focus on her cousin who's talking with Kai.

Time passes and Lisa almost fell asleep on their table when Jisoo dragged her again. Jennie and Kai finally went on their ways but Lisa noticed something.

"Are we not following Jennie?"

"My cousin can go home by herself Lis. I just want to confirm something" Jisoo firmly held Lisa's wrist as they went to follow Kai's path.

Kai turned to a narrow pathway with Jisoo and Lisa silently following him. They quickly hide when Kai stopped at his destination. He met his friends there - the same friends on the ball.

"How is it?" One of them asked.

"Can you give me a much more difficult task? Piece of cake" he answered.

"What is he talking about?" Lisa mumbles while Jisoo shrugs and keeps eavesdropping on their conversation.

"You haven't even accomplished it yet"

"We all know where this is going so better ready my money"
