Chapter 5

"Hello" Ben answered the phone

"What's up man it's Eli"

"Uh..what's good man?" Ben asked

"Nun much I just wanted to know if you weren't busy you'd like to come out for drinks"

"Uh...yeah what time man?"

"8:00"

"I'll be there at 8:00" Ben said looking at his watch

"I'll text you where" Eli said

"Alright man" Ben said hanging up

Sitting in his office at home he tried to call Miranda, but she didn't answer so he send her a text. Waiting for a respond back, he got ready for the bar

"Hey, there he is" Eli said

"Hey man, how you doing" Ben smiled

"Not too bad, I just wanted to celebrate" Eli said

"Celebrate what"

"I'm a single man" Eli laughed and that's when Ben realized he was drunk

"Single? What happened to Miranda?" Ben asked

"She broke up with me man 5 damn years down the drain, so fuck her" Eli said taking another shot

"Watch your mouth man" warned him

"What? For what? The bitch left me-" His words got cut short by Ben punching him to the ground.

"I told you to watch your mouth, and her leaving you was probably the best thing she could ever do, and your disrespectful ass better stay away from her" and with that Ben left out of the bar leaving him on the floor.

"Hey baby" Ben said over the phone

"Hi..." Miranda answered

"What's wrong, I've been trying to call you all day" Ben asked

"Uhh...it's nothing how was your day?" Miranda asked

"It was okay, but it could have been better if you'd answer the phone" he chuckled

"I'm sorry" she sighed

"It's okay...so how was your day"

"It was...okay"

"You positive, you sound like somethings wrong" Ben said

"Positive"

"Well I'm coming to see you" He said

"How you don't even know where I am" she laughed a little

"I'll see you in an hour" he said

"Ben, you don't know where—"

"See you in a little bit" and with that he hung up

Getting out of the shower Miranda heard a knock at the door, grabbing her towel she wrapped it around her body she walked out of the bathroom.

"How the hell" she whispered looking through the peephole

"How did you find me" she asked opening the door showing her fluffy purple towel

"Why are you in a hotel room" he asked walking in avoiding her question

"Why are you here?" She asked

"I told you, I was coming to see you but I thought I was coming to a house not a hotel room" he said sitting on the bed.

"Ben..."

"Come on...get dressed and get your stuff" he said

"What?...why"

"Because you're not staying in some hotel room because you broke up with Eli and he put you out"

"He didn't put me out, and how do you know I broke up with him, I know I said I was going to but how did you know I already did" she asked tightening her towel around her

"What?" He asked

"How did you know we broke up" she asked getting frustrated

"He invited me for drinks, and he told me" he shrugged

"Now can you please get dress" he walked up to her

"Tell me why you guys went for drinks" she folded her arms

"I'll tell you everything once we get to my house, I promise" he kissed her

"Ben, what is this?" Miranda asked as she saw the little ring box

Miranda had been staying with Ben for a week, and she was loving it.

"Open it" he smiled cleaning his face with a napkin

"I'm scared to open it honestly" she sipped her wine

"Can you just open it please" he laughed taking a sip of his wine

Slowly taking the ring box from the middle of the table, she opened it and gasped at a beautiful Asscher cut diamond ring

"Ben...."

"It's a promise ring, I know it's nothing fancy but I wanted to get you something" he shrugged smiling at her

"Miranda, baby why are you crying" he asked getting up and kneeling in front of her

"Ben...this is too much" she sniffed

"Miranda, I love you and with this ring I promise I wouldn't hurt you, make you feel abandoned, and I'll always be there for you no matter what" he said kissing her hand

"You promise" she said

"I promise" he smiled slipping the ring on her finger
