Love for the Captain

Chapter 1: Life changes

It was an early morning for you as usual. It was about 5 a.m. when you woke up to get ready for the day. As you were getting dressed you thought to yourself about what was to be done today.

"Ok so I have to do barn work today for farther since he is gone, then... ummm damn what was it he wanted me to do in town again? (you sigh) Oh well I'll just go see him and find out."

You were finally done getting dressed and went out the door to head to the barn.

As you walked nearer you could hear all the horses nickering and neighing at you, as if saying we're ready to eat, feed us now.
"Okay okay guys, I'm coming, just hold on" you say chuckling a little to yourself.

These weren't just any horses your farther cared for, these were the survey corps horses. Your family for two generations had been entrusted with caring for and training these magnificent animals, and about 8 years ago your farther brought you into his work.

Your farther his whole life has been a skilled horseman, and wanted to teach you all he knew, and you excepted his teaching because you had and ever growing love and passion for them, and over the years grew very skilled, perhaps more skilled than your farther.
  
As soon as you finished feeding you went straight to cleaning stalls and doing their waters. In this time you thought about your future, and started thinking aloud talking to the horses,
"You know, I want to fill fathers shoes one day and take over for him. To be just like him."

It had been a couple of hours and you had gotten quite a lot done, and managed to work with some of the horses, because just like any soldier they must train too.

You quickly headed home to freshen up and change before heading to town, you chose a knee length black skirt and a button up whit shirt making yourself look very professional since you like that kinda look.
   
You entered the town of Shiganshina, making your way towards your grandmother's place. Your farther had been staying there with her since she has fallen extremely ill and could no longer take care of herself.

You get to the front door and knock. Your farther opens the door

"(Y/N), I did not expect you too visit today, come on in"

"No thank you" you say "I just came here to see what it was you needed since you said a while back you need me to get something"

"Oh ok (Y/N)" he says with a disappointed and sad look on his face. "I need you to get some medicinal herbs, they're for for your grandmother"

"Ok, I'll get those, I won't be long" you say.

"Thank you (Y/N), I love you"

"Love you too dad" you say back.

For a long time now I grew more distant from my grandmother, because I couldn't bear to see her so ill and eventually die soon. I already had to see my mom suffer like that and I just couldn't handle more illness and death. I wasn't trying to be heartless and it wasn't that I didn't care for her or not love her I just couldn't bear it, not after my mom.

You walk down to the herd shop, get the the herbs that your father needs, and heads to pay for them. While waiting you started to get a gut wrenching feeling, a feeling as if something bad were about to happen.

As you were walking out the shop you heard what sounded like  cannon fire. You looked up at what looked like titan steam.

" Oh God, is that what I think it is? it can't be, maybe they just killed a titan outside the wall? But why so much steam?" you say to yourself in shock.

Then you see it, the head of a huge titan bigger than any you've ever seen or heard of. Just seconds later you are caught up in a shock wave, knocking you over. Your in shock not being able to comprehend what is happening, then without even thinking you get up and start running towards your grandmother's. But when you get there you are stopped in your tracks by a titan, a titan holding you dad about to devour him. In shock you scream

"Hey!!! You big fucking dummy, put my farther down!!!!"

"Run (Y/N), save yourself!!" your farther yells at you

"Nooo! I'm not going anywhere, I'm going to save you!" you say bursting into tears.

"Goddammit woman leave!!! Do as your told!"

But it's too late, your farther is gone, and grief and shock take over you. Completely stuck in place you are swept up by the titans hand, in too much shock to fight back.

"Is this it? Is this the end for me? Being eaten by a titan? God, I guess it is"

Suddenly you find yourself falling, then caught by someone. You don't know who, but now is not the time to be asking names. The man takes you too a safe place and before he takes off again, you get a glimpse into his eyes.

As you stare into those steel grey eyes, you begin to feel strange feelings, but before you could say anything even a thank you, he zips off again going to fight the titans.

"Who is he?" you say to yourself as you walk away going to where all refugees will be going. As you walk you know that nothing will ever be the same again, and that you are going to chose a different path when all this is over.
