Y/N woke up to the sound of her alarm ringing beside her. She quickly shut it off and rolled over to face the other side to catch a few more minutes of sleep. She recounted the events of last night. She remembered getting dolled up in a beautiful princess dress, meeting talking magical creatures, dancing till she can't breathe, and running up the stairs with a handsome king. She smiled as the sound of the king's voice rung through her mind and his unbelievably charismatic face popped in her mind. Was it all a dream? Lucy said it wasn't. Last night was too good to be true though. Her hands wandered around her. She felt the smooth silk sheets under her palms. She reveled at its softness and rolled around the bed, confirming that she wasn't in England. Her usual cotton sheets weren't ever this comfortable.
As much as she wanted to melt into the royally comfortable bed, her mind was racing and she couldn't deny the excitement bubbling in her chest. She did a good stretch and rose from the bed. She stood there in the nightgown that was neatly folded on the bed the previous night. She looked around her room and sighed. She was still overwhelmed when she stared at everything too long. She realized she wasn't able to explore her room due to Lucy sweeping her to the ball last night. She should do that now, but first the sunrise... Oh, how beautiful!
She walked across the room and opened the window. Cool, salty, sea breeze entered the room. It was refreshing. She breathed in deep as she took in the rising sun. She leaned on the windowsill and reveled at the sight. The sky was painted half-gold and half-blue. The sun seemed so big and near and beautiful as its rays shined through the clouds. She could look at this view forever. Soon, rays of the sun were hitting her face and she basked in its warm glow.
She took one last deep breath and strode away from the window as the sun was starting to blind her. She decided to look around the room, starting with her vanity. She daintily sat down on the cushioned stool and looked through the items on the table first. There was a fancy-looking hand mirror, a fancy-looking quill, a fancy-looking hairbrush and hair comb, a fancy-looking... who was she kidding? Everything in this room was fancy, even the floor.
There were also little jars and bottles right under the main mirror. She took a circular one and opened it. It revealed a fragrant cream of some sort. Maybe it was a facial lotion? It smelled like a facial lotion... It felt like facial lotion. She put it down and did the same to the other bottles. Most were perfumes, some were oils. There was lavender oil, peppermint oil, and there were also some more lotions or ointments as she guessed. The only product she was sure of was the lip and cheek color that Lucy used on her last night. She then dug through the drawers and found some more things. The first drawer held hair accessories and the second drawer held a first aid kit – that she recognized, but instead of the usual drugs, she found more ointments and a few bottled herbs.
She explored the rest of the room and took a million pictures on her phone- including disappointingly instagramable ones of herself posing under the sun. Somehow her phone didn't have the 'running out of storage' notification anymore, and the battery didn't lower down even just by one percent. She couldn't find a signal anywhere though so, no internet for her then. Luckily she still had her hundreds of songs and even more playlists downloaded, along with her movies, but she didn't focus on those right now. Right now, she was in the bathroom that connected to her room. Even the bathroom was fancy. She was shocked to find indoor plumbing- shocked but ever so grateful. There was a tub, a shower, another fancy mirror, and a shelf full of towels and toiletries. She smelled them and guessed which ones were shampoo and which ones were soap. She was about to try and sit in the bathtub to feel how big it was but a knock came at the door. She took her robe and went to the door before slowly opening it.
"Oh, hello", she greeted. A woman was standing there, about a few years older than her.
"Good Morning Lady Y/N. I'm Deah, your chambermaid. I'm here to help you get ready", Deah smiled kindly.
