James 1:12

12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
I pray that our motivation for resisting the devil and enduring temptation all flows out of our great love and passion for Jesus. No for this world, not to look good and act self-righteous, not to remain a good reputation to impress man or to feel better about ourselves. Let our motivation, let our hearts be pure, may it desire and hunger to please our saviour and walk in His ways and may He gives us this grace.
God increase our motivation not to be based on worldly rewards but on the crown of life you have for us that we may remain focused and solid. We know earthly things can perish but what you have set for us is forever. We pray for this grace and love from you to help us endure temptation and resist sin. Help us not to fall into sin but when temptation comes, help us to be wise and discerning so that we can stand and not fall.
You have said we shouldn't think we can stand lest we fall and so lord help us to rest on your promises and grace alone and remain humble so that we can overcome.
