It was 4:15 in the morning and we were gathering all the necessary shit we would need to complete our mission.
We knew we would have to wake up extra early in order to be three steps ahead of any possible disruptions that may occur.
I went down the short mental list and checked everything we had off.
Each of us had a gun with extra bullets, and even though I didn't want Lucas to be apart of this—I made sure he was strapped up.
There were only three bulletproof vest, obviously because only three of us are in this line of work.
But I decided to give Lucas mine, much to his dismay, but I'd put him over myself any day.
We had gloves, so we weren't leaving and fingerprints behind, and shoe covers so our footprints couldn't be tracked.
When your do what we do for a living, these are the kinds of things you keep around you at all times.
Confident that we in fact everything we would need.
I made sure all of the drugs were in the bag before speaking.
"Well that's everything, y'all know what we gotta do right? If y'all got any questions, the time to ask is right now—because none of us have any room to freeze up when it's time to shoot." I say, looking at all the faces in the room.
No one says anything.
Alright, I guess we're ready.
I tuck my gun in my pants and throw the duffel bag full of drugs over my shoulder.
"Well if we all on the same page lets get started." I continue, leading the way out of the room with them following behind.
I feel a hand lace their fingers with mine and I look over to see Lucas, we sharing a knowing looking almost as if we know exactly what the other is thinking.

"Y'all go ahead to the car, ima go stash the money in spot where we agreed to leave it." Dre speaks up, turning in the opposite direction to take the money behind the building we were staying in, and throw it in trash in a secluded ally.
We made sure to stuff it in a trash bag, just to make it look more believable—just in case someone decided today was the day they'd go dumpster diving.
