Sunshine

It lights up my life

Even in the darkest of rooms

It's always there to make the room brighter

Because in the darkest of nights...

The only light is you my sun

And I am the darkness you cure

Chaeyoung smiled at the poem and put it in a random folder. She'll remember which one later.

Chaeyoung waited at the school's entrance for Jennie, who arrived late.

"Sorry Chae! I accidentally slept past my alarm..." Jennie ran to Chaeyoung's side, and both started on their way to school.

Chaeyoung and Jennie hadn't talked on their way, nor did they before they spit up for their first periods. Chaeyoung did know how to speak, but she didn't have a reason to, and she couldn't figure out why. Despite wanting to say at least hello, she couldn't.

During her classes, she read ahead in the manga her and Jennie started together. Despite being called out for it multiple times, she continued to do it.

"Chaeyoung, is something bothering you?" Jennie asked Chaeyoung at lunch.

"I wish I knew what was wrong Jennie, but I don't..."

Chaeyoung turned to Jennie.

After having eye contact for a minute, Chaeyoung abruptly threw herself at Jennie and embraced her tightly.

"Ch... Chaeyoung..?" Jennie was just as confused as Chaeyoung.

"Here lets... Talk about it outside..." Chaeyoung pulled away, grabbing her trash to throw it away.

Outside at recess, Jennie and Chaeyoung sat down at a picnic table. They had the manga, but it lay on the table.

"What did you want to talk about Chaeyoung..?" Jennie asked, resting her cheek in one hand. "I... I have... This person I keep thinking about..." Chaeyoung explained, looking away in embarrassment.

"Even I don't know who it is, so don't bother asking. I have an idea though, but it's very unlikely. Gee, I sure sound like Jisoo..."

Jennie immediately stood up from the seat. "Chaeyoung!" Jennie squealed, jumping up and down with joy. "You have a crush Chaeyoung! Oh my gosh!" Jennie shouted, but Chaeyoung once again threw herself at Jennie and tackled her to the floor. "Don't say it that loud!" Chaeyoung scolded her, and proceeded to push Chaeyoung off. "Fine... But can you tell me who?" Jennie and Chaeyoung sat back down. "That's the catch; I don't even know who it is..." Chaeyoung repeated. "Well, try and figure out who it is by the end of the day. You can tell me after the club." Jennie smiled.

"Oh right, the club... I totally forgot..."

Just after, the whistle was blown. "Well, we can read in the club okay? See ya there!" Jennie shouted to Chaeyoung as she ran to her line to go inside.

"Just try and figure out before the club, it can't be that bad."

Chaeyoung picked up the manga and started running to her own line.

Club time arrived sooner than Chaeyoung anticipated. Thoughts raced through her head on her way to meet up with Jennie.

"I haven't had a feeling like that in a long time... But after recess, I didn't really think about anyone..."

"What if it's...? No! I couldn't possibly..."

Chaeyoung looked upward, fighting her sudden blush at the thought.

"She isn't that way, and I'd know..."

Chaeyoung waited for Jennie, and when Jennie arrived they headed in their way to the literature club.

"So did you find out who you keep thinking about?" Jennie eagerly asked. "U... umm... No! I didn't! As a matter of fact, I haven't thought about them since recess. It had to have been a phase." Chaeyoung stated. "Aww man... Even in high school we're still single pringles..." Jennie pointed, but Chaeyoung just scoffed in response.

"Hello everyone! So today we are sharing the poems we wrote last night, so go ahead and get those out." Lisa smiled, standing at the front of the room while the other three girls sat at the desks.

Chaeyoung took out her poem and quickly scanned it. She had written it about a person, more specifically Jennie.

Yes, as much as Chaeyoung hated to admit it, she cared enough to write a poem about somebody.

"Go ahead and choose who you share with first, but eventually everyone will read each other's poems." Lisa got her own poem out and dashed over to Jisoo, who had a smile appear when Lisa arrived at her side.

"Hey Chaeyoung, here's my poem!" Jennie said, handing Chaeyoung her poem.

"Typical Jennie, always happy... So happy it makes me happy in an instant..."

"Can I read yours Chaeyoung?" Jennie smiled to Chaeyoung. Chaeyoung liked Jennie's poem, despite it focusing mainly on breakfast. "Fine! Here! Read it!" Chaeyoung shoved her poem to Jennie's hands, who struggled to not drop it.

Chaeyoung crossed her arms and looked away, but she did this for two main reasons.

1. She didn't want to see any negative faces Jennie might make

2. She was doing her best to win a battle against a sudden blush

"Chae... Hey Chaeyoung?" Jennie poked Chaeyoung in her upper-chest region.

This definitely brought Chaeyoung back from her little imaginative reality.

"H... Hey! Don't touch there Jennie! You frickin' pervert!" Chaeyoung snapped. "There's the Chaeyoung I know and love!" Jennie giggled.

"Know and... Love? No way... She's just a friend..."

"So what do you think of the poem?" Chaeyoung asked, trying to evade the subject. "I liked it, but just know I'm here for you always. Got it?" Jennie placed a hand on Chaeyoung's shoulder, making direct eye contact.

"Je... Jennie! Can you stop touching me?!" Chaeyoung pushed Jennie's hand off her shoulder.

"You girls alright? Chaeyoung seems to be throwing a tantrum huh Jennie?" Lisa giggled. Chaeyoung turned to see both Jisoo and Lisa watching them.

"Fricking Lisa! How long were they watching...?"

"We're alright. It's Chaeyoung we're talking about so there's bound to be tantrums." Jennie responded.

"Well Lisa... Seems it's time to go..." Jisoo spoke out. "Oh, you're right Jisoo! Well, we'll do another poem tonight. That's all I ask, see y'all tomorrow!" Lisa smiled.

Chaeyoung and Jennie walked home together as usual.

"Chaeyoung, you know your tantrum mode is really cute for you..." Jennie complimented Chaeyoung, but of course Chaeyoung didn't exactly see it that way.

"I'M NOT CUTEEEEEEEEE!!!!" Chaeyoung pouted, but it only made Jennie laugh.

"See? Right there was adorable Chaeyoung! You'll win the heart of whoever you were thinking of for sure."

The girls parted ways, and a million thoughts raced through Chaeyoung's head.

But one stuck like glue.

"What if the one I was thinking about... Was Jennie...?"
