Deena and her friends were hanging out by a tree, the tree that they always hang out when they go to camp. "How is it sharing the same cabin with 'annoying Fraser'?" Simon asked. Deena rolled her eyes, "it's been two days since camp started and she's already getting on my nerves" she said.
Ziggy shrugged, "she's actually not that bad" she said. "Of course you'd say that, you two are getting along perfectly" Deena said. "What? You haven't even given her a chance, Deena" the red head stated. "Name one thing you that don't like about her" Cindy said.
"Well, for one- she talks all the time, no matter how many times I tell her to shut up" Deena explained, "she likes to mess with me, oh and- she's a Sunnyvaler" she said. "Not all Sunnyvaler are the same" Keira said. "Exactly" Kate said.
"Why do you like to mess with her?" Carson asked Sam. "Because it's amusing" Sam smirked. "Plus, seeing her get mad over nothing is-" Junior cut her off, "funny" he said. "Right, yeah, funny..that's what I was going to say" she mumbled the last part. "Plus, she's from Shittyside" Junior smirked, "right, babe?" He asked, wrapping an arm around Sam. The blonde nodded, "um..I have to use the restroom" she said before standing up and walked away. She didn't actually have to use the restroom, she just didn't want to hang out with her friends. She walked into her cabin and sighed as she laid down on the bed.
Sam kept her eyes on the ceiling as she got lost into thought. She didn't even notice the door opened until someone spoke up, "I thought that you were in the bathroom" it's Junior. Sam sighed as she sat up and looked at him. "I just needed some air.." she said. "You could've told us that instead of lying to us" he said. "I just..your friends are amazing and all, but..I guess I feel like I don't belong" Sam quietly spoke.
"What do you mean you don't belong? You fit in perfectly!" Junior said. "No I don't! You don't understand!" Sam said as she stood up. "Understand what?!" He asked. "Your friends are homophobic!" She said. "So?" He crossed his arms. "You know what i am..who I am- I can't stand being around people who won't accept me for who I am" she said.
"Then don't tell them!" He said. "Junior- I want to tell them" she said, "I'm tired of hiding" she sighed. "Then does that mean that we're over?" He asked, rolling his eyes. Sam nodded, "I'm sorry" she said. "Fuck- why can't you be normal?" He asked.
Sam froze as she heard what he had said. I mean, they were only together to cover up the fact that she was into girls and he was okay with it..or, well- she thought he was. They've been best friends since kindergarten and hearing that just hurts..especially since it's coming from him.
And just like that, Deena walks into the cabin and saw them. "Am I interrupting..?" She asked. Junior shook his head, "no, I was leaving" he said before walking out.
Sam sighed as laid back down on her bed, trying so hard not to cry right now. Her best friend basically just told her that she wasn't normal, that hurts.
"Sam?" Deena started, "are you okay?"
