I ran down the stairs as soon as I could, running into the kitchen, and nearly ramming right into Mom.
She raised a brow at me expectantly. "Y tu?" [And you?]
"I need to talk to you and Dad before we go over to the apartment tomorrow." She frowned in confusion. I knew she would want an immediate explanation. "It's really important, but I need both of you to be here so we can talk about it."
"Did you kill someone?"
"What? No, of course not."
"Did Logan kill someone?"
"No."
"Are you queer?"
"Not that I'm aware of."
"Is Paisley pregnant?"
I narrowed my eyes at her. "What? Fuck, no."
She let out a sigh of relief, wiping her forehead with the back of her hand. "Okay, great. Your dad gets home in three hours. Can it wait until then, or is it urgent?"
"Semi-urgent. Three hours is fine."
"On another note, vete a cambiar." [Go change.]
I looked down to see that I was only in a pair of boxers. Oops.
Mom and Dad went to sleep early last night and I didn't get a chance to tell them what I was thinking, so I just forced myself to go to sleep and tell them as soon as I woke up.
This could really happen.
With a grin, I pressed a quick kiss to her hair before booking it up the stairs.
"You better not be smiling like that because it's something you know is stupid." She called after me.
It wasn't stupid. I genuinely wanted to do this.
I couldn't wait. Maybe I'd be let down tremendously, but that was a risk I was willing to take. Nothing would prepare me for a potential hard no, but either way, I needed to put this idea out there.

Three hours had long passed and Dad still wasn't home. Either he was dead on the side of the road, or the universe really hated me today.
While he'd been making me wait, I finished packing up my room and even loaded my boxes into the car for tomorrow morning when we got the keys. I wasn't planning on wasting any time. As soon as I was handed those keys, I was going to toss all of my shit inside.
This was something I'd been waiting to happen for a while and even though leaving the house and my friends would suck, it was an important step in my life. Something I'd never let myself regret.
