“Damn it!” I scream as I go back to my locker. I don’t even bother about the attention from my schoolmates that it gets me. “Why wasn’t she there? And to top it all off, Dex followed me. This can’t get any worse.”
“Hey, Davidson!” I hear a familiar voice call from behind.
Is that you, herald of doom?
“Looks like I spoke too soon.”
“I’m not done with you!”
“Dex, let go of it already.”
“You don’t know what I can do!”
“Well, can you give up and go away? Eh? CAN YOU?!”
“This time you’re dead for sure!”
Damn, there are too many people in the hallway. I can’t afford anyone here getting hurt.
“How about we take this outside, big guy? “
“I’ll end this now!” he screams as he starts rushing towards me.
“Oh well,” I say as I dash towards him.
We both continue running towards an inevitable collision. Just before we crash, I drop to the floor and, using my momentum, I slide under him between his legs. I get up and continue running towards the stairs.
“Davidson!” I hear him scream. “Come back here!”
“Oh, yeah,” I shout, “you just wait there. I’ll go for a walk and then I’ll come back.”
I fly down the stairs to the first floor. I keep running until I reach the exit. Once I’m out, I run to the arts building. I enter an empty class in the first floor and then jump out the window.
“Phew!” I exclaim as I drop down. “I think I lost him.”
“Who did you lose?” I hear soft voice ask.
I look to the sides but see nobody.
“Huh?” I say in confusion.
“You were being chased?” the voice says again.
“What? Where?” I say as I look around.
“Up here,” the voice says again.
I look up behind me and see a pair of legs hovering over me. I quickly roll out of the way as a girl drops down from the second floor’s balcony.
“Whoa!” I exclaim. “That was dangerous!”
“Was it really?” she asks in what seems like sarcasm.
“What do you mean?” I say confused.
“I know who you are,” she says as she walks up to me.
I take a step back.
“I know of you anyways,” she says. “You're from Jaeger High, right?”
“How do you know that? Wait, I've seen you before, haven't I?”
She’s that girl that was staring at me the other day.
