Chapter 13

"Hmm... I wonder where my darn assignment went?" She asked herself as she looks under her desk and rumbles through her bag.

"*groan* why would it disappear in a time like this~?"

"Oh, right. I forgot it in my locker. Silly me~" she said as she stood up and ran outside the room.

Meanwhile, Aizen sits in his chair as his eyes follow Chi.

"What should I say?" He asked himself. Then, she came back in an instant with a notebook in her hand.

"Yoshi~!" She said happily as she sat in her chair. Then, she stopped and looked behind her.

"Etto..." She muttered as she looks at Aizen before smiling a bright smile. She stood up in her seat and went over his desk.

"Ne~ is something wrong with me~?" He stares up at her.

"Have you eaten something?" He asked.

"Probably chocolate~" she said.

"Oh, that's why."

"Anyways..." She patted his head.

"Keep the spirits up~!" She went back to her seat and did her homework. He just sat there, staring while smiling at her.

"Heh... The day's finally over..." She said silently as she packs her things up.

"Chi." She heard him call.

"Didn't I say we'll talk in the school garden?"

"But I can't wait." She chuckled.

"Really? You expect me to believe such a lame excuse?"

"It may be lame, but I'm stating the truth." She sighed.

"C'mon, let's just continue in the garden. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom today, I want to see the view." She smiled softly.

"So..." He trailed off, nervous that she would slap him for it. For it.

"What do you want to talk about..?" He asked. Chi sat up from the grass and looked at him.

"Oh, right." Chi took a deep breath, he could tell she's also nervous from the slight curling of her fingers.

"About what I wanted to say... It's... It's just that I wanted to confess to you. I love you, Aizen. I love you. But I won't force myself in your heart. I know, there's somebody else in it. And I'm telling you this, not because I want you to love me back, but to let you know. I know I'm not the one who could make you happy, complete, loved. I know it's not me, coz I've seen you happy with... Athena. And I know she's better than me, so there's no doubting you would love her more than you do with me."  She laid down the grass and smiled.

"But whenever things have gone out of control, I'll be always here, as a friend, who will support you, 'kay?" He just stared at her.

"How..?" She looked at him confused.

"How what?"

"How..? How can you smile like nothing's wrong, but in your eyes, everything's falling apart..?" Her mouth was slightly opened.

"So... You saw..." She looked away. A sad smile crept up her face as the tears roll down her cheeks.

"I-I know, I'm not the one for you, so even if it is killing me, I'm gonna set you free..." She said. Then, she stood up, grabbed her bag and wiped her tears.

"W-well... I'm gonna go back to my apartment... I still have to cook dinner..." She said as she started walking away.

"No, you're coming with me." She stopped in her tracks and looked at him.

"Eh? Why?"

"We still have many things to talk about." He smiled. She puffed her cheeks and said:

"Fine!"
