Apollo and Blade

Chapter eight

Apollo-

"Okay close your eyes tight. It's a scary walk so you can't see." I said as I covered the little girl eyes. We were walking in the building and I was trying to keep her from seeing all of the illegal shit. Not the best place to bring a five year old.

When we made it to N's door we knocked and waited for him to tell us we could come it. He completely missed Valeries small body and looked at us three. "Took y'all long enough."

Without saying anything Sevyn handed N the note and the money. N looked furious by the time he finished reading. He slammed his hand on the desk making Valerie hide more behind me. He then looked through the bag taking out the money. It was half of a million. N loved his money, so obviously, he was upset.

"You killed the little girl right? we don't need her, Did you see the man? Any traces of him."

"He was in the garage. He committed suicide, it seems to be just before we got there." Sevyn confirmed.

"The little girl is killed right?" He asked again. I looked behind me to see Valerie looking up at me confused. She had no idea what was going on and I felt bad for her. Blade wanted to just drop her off far from where we were, but I couldn't bring myself to just leave a little girl on the streets hoping maybe someone would pick her up.

"N, I wasn't able to do it-"

That's when N noticed Valerie hiding behind me. "Apollo- how the hell did y'all end up bringing a kid into my office- are y'all trying to mock me?"

"Who is y'all?" Blade said lowly.

"Y'all all fucked up. One simple instruction. ONE and you can't listen? Why are y'all working here then. You knew what you had to do and you just can't seem to do it."

"It was all me N. I couldn't do it and when Blade tried I told him no." I said. N looked at me like I was stupid. If anything I was the one who always did the job how it was supposed to go. "Sevyn? What about Sevyn. What did you say?"

"I wasn't even with them. I was checking the house looking for anything valuable. Then I waited in the car." Sevyn said.

"Hi, I'm Valerie." She said peeking her head out from behind me. N furrowed his eyes brows looking at her. He softened up a bit. I could tell he still wanted her gone though. "I- fuck Apollo keep it. But you have to deal with it. I don't want to hear nothing about anything that involves her. Get out of my office. All three of you."

"Wait, are we still getting paid?" Blade and Sevyn asked at the same time. "Yes, get out of my fucking office!"

When we walked out they looked at me. "See it went as planned. Everything is good!" I said chuckling. "Apollo shut up. You had him saying y'all when we didn't even do shit."

"Stop cussing in front of her."

Blade sucked his teeth walking ahead of me. I guess I'll just take care of her. I can't just leave her with someone just in case she actually do have any information which I highly doubt. "He was scary." Valerie said looking up at me. "Yeah he is scary, but he's really nice, you cover your eyes now. You don't want to see scarier things." I said making her cover her eyes.

We went our separate ways. Well Sevyn went his separate way. He said and I quote "I can't function with out Zy. I have to go see my baby."

Blade and I stayed together. I got in the drivers seat once Valerie was settled in the back. My plan was to find her parents, by the looks of it they don't want her, so then she'll be mine to take care of.
