Chapter 9 - compelled

I opened my eyes to find myself in my room, I touched the spot where I had hit it to find nothing there, not even dried blood. " I cleaned the blood off your head" I looked over to see Elijah and frowned" wh.... why did you help me" I asked and he sat in the chair, in the corner of the room.

" because I feel responsible for what's happening to you"

" but it's not your problem, I deserve what's happening anyway." I mumbled pulling my knees up to my chin." I was drunk and pushed a girl off a roof"

" but my family is responsible for giving that curse in the first place"

" It's my curse, I activated it so therefore it's my problem." I told him, getting up and going over to my dresser. I pulled a bottle of certain and Wolfbane water from the top drawer. I opened it to take a drink but Elijah stopped me by grabbing it from my hand.

" hey, give that back" I tried to get back but he grabbed my wrist." What I'm about to do, I truly am sorry, but your bloodline of werewolves has a long history of being very untrustworthy" my eyes widened as he grabbed my hair and forced me to meet his eyes." You will not leave this town, you will not tell anyone of me being here and you will not reveal anything you heard yesterday to anyone, understand also, stop drinking vervain" he compelled me.

" I understand" I replied in a monotoned voice and when I blinked he was gone. I sighed before changing clothes and leaving to tell the others that I had 'changed my mind'. I still had a few hours before I had to go back in the basement so I went to see Tyler, who wasn't home. I sat in the square completely bored, I hated small towns very much because there wasn't anything to do. I sighed but my eyes widened when I spotted a blonde girl with silver eyes walking toward me. She sat next to me and smirked" Jules, long time no see"

" Thia, seen mason lately"

I frowned before spotting Damon going into the grill." ask Damon Salvatore" I told her before getting up and walking off. When I got home, I went down to the basement to check the chains. My phone went off and I sighed before sat on the ground. I closed my eyes as it began and I fell asleep. The next morning, I went to the grill, only to run into Damon who sat across me." What do you want Damon"

" a cure" then he sighed" for a wolf bite"

I stared at him for a few seconds before I burst out laughing making him glare" what's so funny"

" there is no cure, I'm sorry but there isn't, the only cure I know of is a stake to the heart."

" says the girl who ran all over the east coast trying to find out what she was"

" you don't know the pain I've been through the past few years, turning ever single night with no rest, I haven't gotten a nights sleep since that night and I regret what I did, but does Rose regret what she has done"

Then I got up, downed my drink and left the grill. When I got home I found Elijah sitting in my living room. He smiled at me and I crossed my arms" I get that you compelled me and everything but, why are you in my house" I asked hanging my jacket on a hook by the door before going into the kitchen.

" I'm curious on why, your on your own at such a young age" he asked and I stopped in the doorway." I'm 21 I don't need anyone, I was adopted out the day I was born, I killed my adopted family the first full moon I turned, I never knew my real father and my real mother wanted nothing to do with me, in fact she called me a monster, said I should have been born and that I should just save myself the pain of ever knowing my real dad" I smirked" didn't stop me from trying to find out who he was."

" and did you ever find him" Elijah asked and I looked at the floor." no not yet, but when I do" I looked at Elijah with narrowed eyes" I'll kill him"

Then I walked into the kitchen and made myself a glass of tea, with Wolfsbane in it. When I came back Elijah was gone. I sighed before finishing my tea and sitting on the couch.

A few days later, I sat in the grill sipping a glass of bourbon when Damon sat next to me." What do you want Damon, can't you see I'm wallowing in my misery never getting a good nights sleep"

" about that, a little birdy told me that you have a part in this whole ritual business"

" oh really and what little birdy is that"

" oh I think you know him, wears a suit, is trying to get Elena killed,  is about 1000 years old and can't die"

" Elijah told you"

" ding. ding. ding." he said sarcastically and I sighed setting my bourbon back down." sorry, but I have no idea what your talking about" I told him before getting up and leaving the grill, only to run into Stefan." you do realize that I could accidently leave my door unlocked and kill both of you" I said as Damon appeared behind me.

" yea but, sunset is hours away and we're stronger then you" Damon told me and I stopped before letting out a sigh." I can't tell you Damon, you want information, ask Elijah"

" we can't" Stefan sighed and I frowned" because Elijah is laying in the basement of the boarding house with a dagger in his chest" My eyes widened and I sighed.

" alright but not here" I told them before walking over to my car. We went over to the boarding house and I sat on the sofa with a sigh. Elena sat next to Stefan and Damon got himself a drink." the day after Elena and I were kidnapped by Rose and Trevor, I was ready to leave this place, get as far away as possible but Elijah compelled me to stay...he also told me that, I have part to play in all of this." I silent before I continued." Elijah said that if Elena dies in the sacrifice, I won't have to turn every night, I'll be free from this curse"

" how do you know he's telling the truth" Damon asked sarcastically and I looked at my hands." why else would he tell me his family is responsible for my curse" Elena stared me at me in pity and I rolled my eyes getting up." now that Elijah's compulsion is gone, I'm leaving. Maybe we'll see each other again one day"

" Your leaving?" Elena asked and I nodded" I need to find my dad, that's another reason I came here, there is no reason for me to stay here"

Then I turned and left the boarding house, I got in my in car and drove home.
