The door slammed shut behind me as I strided into the living room and past the kitchen with a determined face.
Anticipation was flowing through my veins like a river of molten hot lava and there was no way that I'd be leaving this house until I get some answers.
Despite my courageous mindset, I was nervous as Hell. I mean, what if I find out something that could completely destroy Tristan and I?
I guess that's the risk I'll have to take, I told myself as I walked towards the long wooden stair case. Tristan scent was fresh and strong, indicating he was in the house. I tried my best not to get caught up in the highly addictive and enticing smell as I took the stairs at a moderate pace.
Aria's words kept running through my head, Tristan took the most precious thing that belonged to them.
My head was almost exploding from curiosity and I was just itching to find out what Tristan took from the Crocotta's.
What did he take?
I finally reached second floor, and stopped walking. I eyed the next set of stairs that continued up to Tristan's and I room before moving my attention to the second floor area.
It was large and it was the first time I had actually taken a proper look at it. Moving deeper into the room, my eyes glided across a large room and next to it was two doors. I gulped and moved closer to the doors.
Tristan's woodsy fresh scent was overpowering now and I couldn't help but take a deep breath and let my mates scent soothe my nerves. It still amazed me by the affect a mates smell could give you.
Just as I was a few metres away from the doors I heard a loud voice coming from inside the room that belonged to the door closest to me. Judging from the way my stomach tightened and goosebumps appeared on my arms, I knew the deep throaty voice belonged to Tristan.
However, as I quietly pattered to the door I couldn't understand a single word Tristan was saying. I frowned as the foreign language he was speaking played in my ears. I rolled my bottom lip into my mouth and paused just outside the door.
I was aware of the act that this was wrong on so many levels. Me being nosey and eavesdropping on my mates conversation as I practically had my ear glued to the door. So freaking wrong, I reminded myself.
My heart was pounding furiously and I tried to listen to a second voice in the room. However, my sensitive ears only picked up on Tristan's and I could only gather he was in the phone to someone.
Tristan's voice sounded lethal now and yet, I still couldn't understand him. Going with my common sense and general knowledge, I knew Tristan was speaking in French.
I waited silently and was growing very uncomfortable as the seconds ticked by. What and who on Earth could he be talking too and why did he sound so angry? Stop eavesdropping and get in there! My wolf growled at me and I could feel her impatience.
Without even thinking I quickly knocked on the door. My heart sped up as Tristan suddenly fell silent from inside the room. Taking a few steps back, I placed hands behind back and waited for Tristan.
I attempted to get ahold of my thoughts while Tristan quietened his voice to a point where I couldn't hear him.
"Come in, Lucia."
My heart skipped a beat, and I could feel the butterflies kick in upon hearing my name fall from such perfect lips. I growled under my breath and straightened my back. I will not appear weak to him. I will not give into him and he sure as hell is answering my questions.
