The rain fell in heavy fast torrents. The wet drops pounded furiously against the roof, while it plastered and sprayed against the window.
My eyes followed a single droplet, watching as it slowly ran down the glass only for it to connect to another raindrop. The drop increased in size and dribbled down the window, before finally dropping off the edge and disappearing out of sight.
I sighed and glanced out the window. I was sitting comfortably on my window seat, my knee bent with my head laying on it. It was early morning, but with one look outside, it seemed otherwise. The sky was a dark grey and the wind was blowing around angrily, whipping at the trees and making loud whistling sounds. And not to mention, it was absolutely bucketing down with rain.
Why on all days, did the weather have to be like this?
I grimaced as another set of rain hammered against the window, the glass shaking slightly. I knew that this storm will soon pass and wouldn't last long. It was summer after all, and while the weather was generally good, there was always short unexpected storms like this.
I eyed the forest with distaste, realising that I would soon be running through those trees and in this condition for well over half a day. I couldn't believe that today is the last day I will have here at my Pack and that I won't be coming back anytime soon. Of course I knew that I will be back occasionally to visit my father and see everyone, but I would no longer be an official member of this Pack.
Yes, but we will be Luna, my wolf piped up, her tone excited. I made a noise in the back of my throat before standing up and walking across my room. Maybe, I replied quietly. I stopped walking as I reached the top of the staircase and raised my nose to the air.
My nose filtered for a certain scent and it wasn't long until the intoxicating scent of woods and sweet pine aroused my senses. I frowned slightly as Tristan's scent was faint and stale, clearly indicating that he hasn't been in the house for at least a few hours.
My frown deepened as I looked out the window, wandering why on earth Tristan would be out of the house in such horrid conditions. I averted my gaze from the window and jogged down the stairs. Once I reached the bottom, I paused and took my time to look around the living room.
I felt my heart swell as my eyes graced the room, before landing on the multiple photo frames that were hung up on the wall. Slowly, I walked over to them and brought a hand up to run a finger over the closest one. It was a photo of my mother. She was sitting on a rock with my father by her side and me sitting in between him. I smiled at how young and happy they looked. My heart tugged painfully; I really did miss my mother.
After looking at my parents, my eyes travelled down to the little girl with golden brown ringlets and what has to be the most cheesiest grin. I had to be about five years old in this photo. I laughed quietly at the photo. It just seemed so perfect.
"That one's my favourite".
I made a noise of surprise, my body jolting slightly as I placed a hand to my racing heart. I twirled around and found my father laughing, a small smile on his face. I glared at him playfully, while hitting him on the chest. Usually I would've heard my father come up behind me but I guess I was so caught up in my thoughts, I never noticed.
"Not funny dad", I grumbled, although I couldn't suppress the smile that tugged at my lips. My father chuckled while looking at the photo I was just looking at. "It is a nice photo, isn't it?" I queried, tracing my finger over my father in the picture. "And look how young you looked!" I teased, turning to look at my father who he widened his eyes in confusion.
"What are you talking about? I still do look like that; young and handsome", my father exclaimed, giving me a knowing look. I chuckled and grinned at him. I was then suddenly wrapped in my fathers arms and my face squashed into his chest.
