On a dark night of October 24th, the town of Halloween was at peace.

Spiders on webs come to play. The fountain flows like an emerald waterfall. Some citizens were awake and took a nightly stroll. Some residents just sleeps for another daily routine of themselves.

The Witches' Shop closed for the evening (tempting to fly over a town with a broomstick). Two witches (tall and short) takes a frontward position and flew up in the air hastily. They did with their brooms. Black cat creeps on top of stonewalls. Several bats flies passed Halloween Town, heading above a Spiral Hill in the graveyard.

The red-headed blue doll noticed. She wears a colorful ragged dress. "The vampires are fluttering for such dark calling, Jack." The friendly rag-doll said quietly. The skeleton in his black with white-striped outfit glanced up. His tuxedo for Halloween had a bat bow tie too. One out of four bony fingers indicates the group of nocturnal animals. "They are in the summoning from Count Dracula, Sally." He said.

The appearance of the love-bats seems creepy. For Jack and Sally, they are actually friendly.

Jack Skellington sat on top of the Spiral Hill. Sally hangs around with him in a shape of swirl. They were both mesmerized by vampires as bats, flapping in the yellow-cream moonlight. "The Count of Darkness had much powers to lure humans and creatures just by his mind-tricking." He mentioned. "Ooo, how scary." She was amazed. Jack agrees with Sally for how frightening it would be. If it happens or occurs to everyone who slumbers and awakes, it may be how nightmares were born. His delightful ghouling times on Halloween are just memories from the year before that.

He recalls back to one year before that. Jack expresses from optimistic to melancholic. Sally glimpsed at him. "Jack...I am sure Sandy Claws will forgive you about last Xmas."

"It's not what worries me, Sally." He added with a dismay sigh, "Leading the spooks of Halloween Town is exhausting." She believes him. "I know how you feel."

Sally fears another premonition. Although it did not come to her yet.

Jack continues on to his share of anxiety with her. "This upcoming holiday is only a week away. I didn't even have a thought of some concepts." She reassures him once more. Sally was his best counseling-horrifying-angel. "The Mayor had agendas for every Halloween. If he pulls out the same ones from a few years back, you will improvise them for much petrifying."

Jack makes a comeback in eccentric, "Mayor is only the elected official in Halloween Town. He can't make decisions by himself." She nodded her head. That was true. Instead of suggesting together a different Halloween special holiday for this year. Sally had a calming tactic. "Jack, we should take an eerie hike in the Hinterlands. Sitting here overthinking a creative Halloween would not put you at ease."

He looked blown at Sally for a moment. Then, Jack smiles gladly at her. "You're right." He added, standing up in his quickness of the skeleton, "A walk in the dreading forest will do not just for me. For us too."

Jack lends his right bony hand to her. She took it with hers. He gripped her gently. Sally carefully climbs up the actual spiral to the top. Jack offers her his left skeleton hand. She takes it with her own. He was cautious. Sally had lots of stitches all over her blue skin. Her hand-wrists had some stitchings. Jack tried his best not to break her. Sally made one more step up.

Now she's on top of the Spiral Hill with him. They gazed hopelessly or sweetly at each other. They smiled slightly. He approached her first. Jack caressed her lips with his. They closed their eyes, feeling a passion with the glimmering moon involved. Sally was loved. After longer than 10 seconds, Jack lets go of her mouth. Their sights are opened (He really can see, even he does not have eyes. Jack's just full of bones, moveable with his awesome outfit of the gentleman).

He wonders to his sweetheart, "Would it be a crowd to invite Zero with us on our hike?" She do not mind, "Not at all, Jack." He thanked Sally for her consideration. They both examined the graveyard. Jack pats his left leg twice from his hand. The ghost pet emerges from the ground. Next to it was his doghouse's tombstone. The ghoul animal has a red collar on his neck. The grave was written 'Zero' on it. The phantom creature had a glowing jack-o-lantern on its nose. It barks with excitement. The spirit animal flew to its owner in a swift. She was happy to see his cute ghost. He released her hands and head towards his man's best friend. Jack greeted, "Why, hello, Zero!" His ghost dog was thrilled to see him. He asked Zero, "Will you like to walk or fly with us in the Hinterlands?" The ghost dog's ears perked up.

Zero flies by them. Jack and Sally watched the ghost dog. Zero was already at the Hinterlands' entrance. The ghost dog goes barking with joy. She tells Jack, "He loves too." The skeleton was glad. "Brilliant." Jack said. The swirling hill itself went uncurling for them. He analyzes the Hinterlands' passage in. Jack gestures to come, "Shall we go for a stroll in the dreary woods, Sally?" She holds on to his left arm. Sally looks at him. "Let's go for a while. We need this." He agreed.

They're both walking down the un-spiraled hill. The moon was no longer on the spot. It rises up gradually by minutes. She walked how re-fixed doll could walk. Jack stayed with her while Sally moves. She was questioned from him to live in his house. Sally accepted his offer.

She used to live in Doctor Finkelstein's Laboratory. Yes, Sally was created by a mad scientist of Halloween Town. She had times of escaping his lab, just to see the terrifying leader of Halloween Town. When Sally first witnessed Jack Skellington's fright of night, that's how her ragdoll's heart was smittened by him. He tells her from his heart that she's welcomed to his haunting home.

Jack and Sally have been in a relationship since last Xmas day. She speaks softly, "I love you, Jack." He spoke in return, "I love you too, Sally." They're definitely in need of their moment. Smiling each other and looking forward to travel shortly in the spooky forest.

He command his ghost dog. "Go along first, Zero. We'll follow you in the Hinterlands." The ghost dog lights his way with his nose inside. She loves how Zero's nose beams so bright. They both mimicked where the ghost dog fly to. The group of three strolls into the dark woods.
