Soulmate Writing (Caleo)

A/N I love to hear constructive criticism but please refrain from typing anything offensive or mean. You can correct my grammar but please don't be too pushy about  it. Anyway lets get into it I guess!

Disclaimer: I'm not allowed to claim them, so all characters except for my occasional OC belong to Rick Riordan. I also don't own the picture.

Calypso's pov:

I woke up feeling like I always do, tired and ready to go back to sleep. I was about to because the blankets were so warm and felt like I could just sink into them and be warm forever. I almost did until it hit me, it was my 16th birthday. Now usually this would be a happy day and I would be super energized, but I just really didn't care and just wanted to go back to sleep.

Now here's the thing, almost everyone on their 16th birthday gets this special ability. If they write on their wrist their soulmate can see it and respond. Now my birthday is January 27th which is a pretty early birthday so if my soulmate is my age or younger I probably won't be able to communicate with them yet.

Soon I dragged my feet across the floor of my room to go get dressed. Now my family is a little crazy when it comes to birthdays. They go all out and when I say all out I mean it. Imagine your craziest birthday and your most extravagant one then double them both, and add them together. I love that about them but on days like today it just feels a bit much.

Soon after eating waffles and bacon and being showered with love I went to school. Unsurprisingly no one really cared, it was my birthday and that's fine. I don't have friends anyway, it's like I'm an outcast and they want to keep it that way. So I just scribbled a hi on my wrist just to make sure but of course there was no response. Maybe I'm cursed when it comes to love or something. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

~a few months later cause I'm lazy~

I woke up today but something was different. There was writing on my wrist! Every Morning since my birthday I wrote "Hi" on my wrist and now I finally see a hi back. This was the best day ever! I might actually find love!

I have dated a few boys in the past and none worked out. As soon as they found their soulmates, I was left in the dirt, forgotten. Sometimes I even doubted I had a soulmate but now I know for sure that I have one.

Slowly I got out of bed without taking my eyes off the hi. I had so many overwhelming emotions and to be honest not even sure if I was ready. But I made sure to keep in mind that just because they are my soulmate we don't necessarily end up together and I will probably not meet them anytime soon.

Getting ready to leave went by so quickly and only when I sat down next to my best friend Katie Gardener (A/N I just feel like these two would be besties) and contemplated showing her the "hi" what just happened really sunk in.

I had a soulmate. A real person might actually love me back and stay with me.

The day went by ordinary and nothing happened. Same with the day after that and the day after that. I knew one thing for sure, I wouldn't meet them here.

~ A very longggg time skip Idk how long (as in a few years)~

I walked out the door of my warm flower and food shop into the cold morning air. Apparently a new mechanic shop had opened up next door and I thought I might greet them.

When I went into the building no one was there so I ventured into the garage which was left open. Before I entered the garage I subconsciously rubbed my wrist where me and my soulmate had been talking this morning.

The garage smelled of oil and fire, and to be honest I didn't really enjoy it. Under a car in the center I could see two feet sticking out and said "Hi".

"Hi? I don't think I have an appointment with anyone right now, so I can help you schedule one in a moment if you'd like".

"Actually, I am here to say hi. I own the shop next door." I said

"Oh the flower and stuff shop?"

"What do you mean by flowers and stuff? I sell food as well which causes my place to smell way better than yours! You would know that if you even paid attention!"

"Well aren't you a ray of sunshine." he said rolling out from under the car.

He looked hispanic with curly brown hair, an oil smudged face, brown eyes and now that I think about it looks kind of like an elf. But as he rolled out I saw on his wrist which had the same writing on it as mine.

By the looks of it it seemed that he had noticed it too and we just stood there staring at each other for a good five minutes before I spoke up.

"So well I guess I finally found you?"

"Well maybe not because your soulmate could have just been saying the exact same thing I was, vice versa."

That got me frustrated because I had been looking for my soulmate forever and this elf dude could possibly be them. I went back into the building, grabbed a pen and right in front of him wrote 'You are the worst'.

This was a really bad impulsive decision because if it worked well that's good? If it didn't then I just ruined almost everything with my actual soulmate. So maybe I should think before I do things more. Sorry I got off track.

It worked though because on his dumb wrist it said 'you are the worst'. After that we just stood in silence, until I said hi.

A/N Wow that was my first one shot I'm sorry it was so short. I started it a while ago and just got to posting it so yeah. I feel like Calypso would say impulsive things and get off track a little when she was talking so that was intentional. I hope you guys enjoyed it cause it was really fun to write. Also this is un-edited so please be nice about the grammar problems. Thanks! <3
