Selfish ?

"Okay class you're dismissed" Mrs. Holtler announced, a second after the bell had rang.

Alexandrea or Alex as she preferred to be called walked out of the now almost empty classroom towards the exit of the school building only to be harshly shoved into.

"Watch it bitch." The person warned.

When Alex turned around fully she wasn't surprised to see the back of her former friend Jackie's head. The girl practically hated her guts. The whole situation has been going on for about a month now and Alex was personally growing tired of it. What's funny about the entire thing was that it was all over some boy that Alex wasn't even truly invested in. In her eyes the most desirable thing about him was his money.

Alex and Jackie actually used to be really close friends. That was until Jackie's boyfriend broke up with her claiming to have strong feelings for Alex instead.

Alex had turned down Jackie's ex, James on many occasions but that didn't change the way Jackie felt towards her. She could have her ex wrapped around her finger if she wanted to and Jackie hated that fact. So Jackie now did anything possible to get under her skin. Alex however was growing bored with it.

"Bitch? Only because your own boyfriend preferred me over you."

Jackie stopped in her tracks obviously in utter disbelief and rightfully so. She had been pushing around her former friend for weeks and nothing had been said until this very moment.

"What?" Jackie questioned, spinning around to face Alex.

"I said." Alex cleared her throat for added effect.

"That I'm only a bitch now all of a sudden because your own boyfriend preferred Me." Alex motioned to herself.

"Over you." She finished.

Jackie immediately tensed up after hearing this.

"You know Jackie, you can't even really blame James for this either. He simply knows what he wants." Alex said, who already knew she was pushing it but no longer cared anymore to stop.

"And just has some really good taste." the teen provoked, seductively touching her body before laughing in her face.

Jackie on the other hand clearly didn't find her taunting as amusing as she did. Her jaw was clenched but her she wore no expression on her face. Noticing this Alex's laughter dialed down. Before Alex was able to get another word out she received a fist to her face.

Flashback (1 month ago)

Alex lifted her eyes from her phone's screen when she heard her friend let out what sounded like a frustrated sigh.

"What's up?" Alex decided to ask.

Jackie threw her phone blindly on her bed before sitting up from her laying down position. She let out another sigh before beginning to explain herself.

"It's James. We're drifting apart and I don't know what to do anymore."

At hearing this Alex chewed on her bottom lip anxiously.

"What do you mean?" She questioned, but already knew the answer.

James had already been telling the now guilty feeling teen about everything wrong in their relationship before making his usual moves on her.

Alex nearly rolled her eyes at the thought. Jackie's whining is what brought her back to reality.

"When we text it's basically me talking to myself. I either get one word responses or it takes him forever to text back. Even when I try to spend some time with him it's likes he's not even there or we usually end up arguing over something stupid." Jackie said, finishing her rant.
