As I was pulled viciously backwards, I tried to scream around the hand over my mouth, kicking out desperately at the man's feet, but it was no use, my attacker was much too strong and I was too weak. I could feel moisture building up in my eyes and tried to hold in my sobs. If I was going to die, I would do it with dignity. I would not give this creep the satisfaction of knowing how frightened I was. Finally, the man released me, shoving me brutally up against a brick wall before he took a step back. It was then that I realised we were not alone and that there were four other men with him. My eyes slowly lifted to my attackers face and once they reached their destination, I let out a gasp of surprise. Standing before me was seemingly a real life Greek God. His blue eyes were stormy and his strong jaw was clenched in what appeared to be anger while he intently observed me. His largely muscled arms were crossed over a well defined chest and his curly, dark brown hair flopped messily into his eyes. He was so beautiful, it was almost painful to look at him. The other men were also beautiful, with similar God like appearances, but none of them compared, nor gave me the same tingly feeling in my stomach as my attacker. What is wrong with me ? I wondered. These men probably want to cause me serious harm and here I am thinking about how pretty they look. I was so busy admiring them that I wasn't prepared when the man suddenly darted forward and caged me against the wall with those strong arms.
"What exactly do you think you're doing walking around a place like this, at this time of night, Little Bird?" He demanded in a husky voice which caused shivers to run up my spine.
"Yeah don't you know there's bad men around these parts," chimed in one of his friends as the men all chuckled darkly.
"I...I got lost, I didn't mean to end up here," I managed to gasp out.
"Do you realise that you're in Black Blood territory? We don't like intruders very much Little Bird, next time you better be more careful, I might not be so generous if I catch you here again,' hissed the man holding me.
"I'm sorry, it was an honest mistake, it wont't happen again."
The man let out a little smirk before turning to his buddies and indicating with his head that they back off. Slowly he eased himself off me and shockingly took off his black leather jacket and offered it to me.
"Here, you look freezing," he said before noticing my hesitation. "Accept the jacket Little Bird, I don't do nice things very often. What's your name?"
"Thank you, my name... my name is Devina," I replied cautiously.
"Pretty name for a pretty girl," he murmured.
Just as I was about to ask what HIS name was, we were interrupted by the sound of screeching tires and a car door slamming shut. I looked to the mouth of the alley in surprise and was shocked to see Ally standing there with her hands on her hips and a fierce expression on her face. My heart filled with so much relief knowing I was no longer alone and I immediately moved to go to her but was stopped by a rough hand on my wrist,
"I'll be seeing you again beautiful, you can count on that."
I started to walk towards Ally when I remembered I still didn't know his name. I opened my mouth to ask when he smirked again and in his husky voice said, "my name is Xavier Knight, I'm the leader of the Black Blood's," before he turned his back and walked away from me, his gang following behind him.
I slowly turned around to face a furious looking Ally and put an innocent smile on my face.
"What the hell was that!?" She shouted. I let out a long, exasperated sigh.
"Um...I can explain?" I offered with a shrug of my shoulders. I had a feeling we would be having a long talk. What did you guys think? xx
