I sat in the cafe for a little longer. As soon as I finished my coffee I left and began walking home. I thought about the situation. What did the Oneil brother want from someone like me? They are known by everyone in the city, probably by everyone in the country. I was known by no one. I was just a normal girl. I go to school Monday to Friday and work on the weekends, I don't party and I don't have that many friends. So what could they possibly want? I reached my house. I saw my dads' car parked in front of our garage. I opened the front door and my favorite smell began filling my senses: my dads' homemade pasta. It was my favorite food so I was always happy when my dad cooked it. He had to cook often after my mother died a few years ago.
"Hey, dad." I said while walking into the kitchen.
"Hi, Sweetheart." He turned around and smiled while draining the pasta.
"That smells fantastic." I praised while taking two plates and placing them on the table. I lit a candle and sat down, waiting for my dad. He put the pasta and the sauce in front of me and sat down next to me. We began eating while I told him about my day and what we did in school. I decided to not tell him about my meeting with the three brothers. I didn't know why but I was a bit embarrassed about it.
After finishing my food and helping my dad clean everything up, I went upstairs to my room. I started doing my homework but got bored so I took my phone to scroll through social media. After some minutes I got a text from Kai. They are in the same English class as me.
Kai
Hey. Did u already finish the essay?
Me
No. Isn't it due next week?
Kai
No. Miss Williams is gonna collect it tomorrow morning.
Me
Oh no... Well guess no sleep for me haha
KaiSame here.
Great. Now I also need to finish my essay.
Four hours later, I finally finished and went to sleep.
