*Chip's POV'S*
I teleport to Von as I had promised him, at exactly 2 pm Toontown time. Von is apparently at his house, which he said he was, but something he didn't tell me is that he was also going to make out with Clove before I came.As soon as I jump out of the portable hole, I can immediately see them both in my peripheral vision. When I turn, Von jumps up, surprised, and Clove just stands there, blushing fiercely.
"A message would have been nice," Von said. "Like before you jumped in." "A notification about your bonding session would have been great too," I replied. "Well some things happen unplanned," Von said with a wink at Clove.
"Anyways, are you up for a ride on the trolley," I asked. "Actually, I th--" Von abruptly stopped his sentence as the door of his estate opened. I leaned towards the doorway to see who entered without then seeing me. I saw a blue dog with very familiar clothing. "Mayor Flippy," I whispered. Clove started to curse under her breath.
"Hold on, Clove, we shouldn't jump to conclusions," Von reassured. "Clove, hide under the bed. Von, behind the sofa. I'll take care of this."
Clove and I just got settled in our hiding spots before Mayor Flippy walks into the room we are in.
"Why hello, Mr. Von Wildroni," Mayor Flippy said. From where I was sitting, I could see the top of the dogs' heads. Von was taken aback. I could tell he was visibly surprised that Mayor Flippy remembered his name.
"Surprised?" Clearly Mayor Flippy noticed too. "Anywho, I wanted to tell you a story, Von. One that I thought you might enjoy, or even relate to." Mayor emphasized his last few words.
Here is the story Mayor Flippy told Von in a shortened version:
Flippy was a young dog when he found his first true love, Caty. Problem is, she was a cat, apparently a gorgeous cat who wasn't like other cats, and he was a dog. Rule #5 existed long long ago, but they wanted to get married. They loved each other that much. So stuff happens and Caty becomes pregnant. A few months later when her belly was obviously bulging, and it was officially a boy, the mayor found out, and he never saw Caty or his son again. When Mayor Flippy finished the story, he was teary, and I felt a bit bad for him. What he said next made me want to throw up and punch him.
"Tell your friend and your wife that they could be held for treason if they share my story with anyone. Same goes for you, sir." "But how--," Von started. "And if that child is born, your family's lives won't end well"
"But, sir...," Von said, flustered. "Good day to you, Mr. Von." And with that he walked out the door.*Von's POV*
"No, Von, please," Clove pleaded as I stormed out of the house. He knows. How the heck does he know. Mayor Flippy gave me the chills. I need to watch my back now. I lam being watched at all times. How? Who? What? When? Where? Why?
Why?
Why?
I am just not understanding this.
Did Mayor Flippy see us?
Did he watch us do it all?I suddenly feel a huge surge of anger and yell in frustration. Those were private moments. Between me and Clove. Apparently there was always a third person there. One who was never invited.
I call up Tricky, and Thomas to come to Chip's house, where Clove, Chip and I try to think. When they arrive, I tell them my plan.
"Von, are you sure you're thinking clearly," Tricky asked. "You sound nothing like yourself. Even if we run, where to?"
"Nowhere," I replied with a growl. "Please, Von. Just wait," Clove said softly. "We can hide in the gray abyss. I heard from friends that Flippy has no surveillance there." "And us three can get you things you need," said Chip, referring to himself, Thomas and Tricky.
"So you're not coming with us," I asked, even though I knew the answer. "We're so sorry, Von. We figured we can help you better from inside the borders than being with you," Thomas replied. I figured that would be the case.
"Come on, Clove," I said. "What," she asked. "Let's go. Come run away with me," I said. "Wait...right now? But don't you want to bring anything with you,"Clove said, confused.
"The only thing I want to bring with me, is you," I admitted. "I love you, Clove."
"Okay then," Clove said, gaining confidence in me with every word she said. "Let's go," she said bravely, with a determined face.
As I reached a corner where the simulated town glitched, all five of us walked through.
"I guess this is goodbye then," Trickysmirk sighed, tears on her face. Clove was crying too. All of us were. We exchanged hugs and a few words. Our final moments together. I realized that even though my friends said they would help us, we wouldn't be seeing them ever again.
"See you on the other side," I said with a smile directed at no one. I really don't know what I meant when I said that. Was I referring to death?
I wasn't mad at my friends. I couldn't take away their lives for my desires, and the illegal love I insist on feeling. That is a decision they must make in the I own time, when they find their true love. I look at each one of them. Maybe I might see them someday, if they decide to do what I did. I might never know.
We all said our last goodbyes, and I gave Clove a quick kiss, before Clove and I started running into the never ending sky.
