CHAPTER IV: The Escape and the Cat

Levy and Gray arrived at the fort of Magnolia. They searched for commodore Loke and found him alongside Lucy's father, who was crazy worried about her daughter's safety. Then, Levy stated she could probably help with the search for Lucy. But she desisted at the last second.

    "So... Is there really any relevant information you can tell us? Or not?" Loke asked Levy.

    "N-no... sorry... I... I'll be going now" Levy replied.

    She and Gray left, but the raven-haired boy found it hard to believe that Levy didn't help in the end. Especially after how concerned she was for Lucy. Levy stated that it wasn't that she wasn't planning on helping. It's just that commodore Loke and the rest of the Celestial Officers weren't the people capable of doing something.

    "But then... Who are you gonna ask for help?" Gray asked.

    "Natsu Dragneel" Levy finally replied.

    Both Levy and Gray headed to the jail section of the fort. The raven-haired boy felt surprised to see the same pirate who he helped to capture just the day before.

The truth is that when Natsu saved Lucy from those men the day before at the port, Levy totally recognised Natsu because they used to belong to the same crew. However, she avoided being seen by him in order to avoid talking to him. She knew Natsu could only bring trouble, but things were different now. She needed his help.

"Hi, Natsu. It's been a while" Levy said.

    "Levy? Is it really you? What are you doing here?" Natsu asked.

    "This is where I live now"

    Natsu then noticed Gray at one side and frowned in childish annoyance. "And you too? What are you doing here? Have you come for more?"

    "What are you talking about?" Gray replied. "I totally won last time"

    "I was attacked from behind, moron! It doesn't count!"

    "Yeah?! Well... You threw a bag of dirt at me! That was totally cheating!"

    "Enough!" Levy claimed. "I'm glad to see you 2 know each other already. Now can you please help me, Natsu?"

    "Ah? What do you want from me now?" Natsu asked Levy as she explained the situation.

    Natsu seemed reluctant about saving Lucy at first. Not even offering to take him out of that cell and freeing him was enough to convince him. But then, his expression changed the moment Levy mentioned Lucy's last name and that she had the pirate pendant..

    "H-Heartfilia?! Are you completely sure?!"

    "Of course! She's my best friend after all" Levy replied. "So what do you say? Are you in or not?"

    "Yeah... Definitely" Natsu turned to look at Gray after that. "What about you, pal? What is your name? If we are gonna be working together I might as well know your name too"

    Gray grunted. "My name is Gray Fullbuster, and we are not gonna be working together at all. In fact, this is as far as I go with this ridiculous madness"

    Gray began leaving, but then Natsu realized he had actually heard Gray's last name somewhere before. "Wait... 'Fullbuster'? Could it actually be?"

    "It is, Natsu" Levy firmly stated. "He is Silver's son"

    Gray startled after hearing that. He couldn't believe the fact that a pirate knew about his deceased father. Actually, he couldn't believe that Levy knew about it too and never told him.  Therefore, Gray decided to stay with them because he wished to know how Natsu and Levy knew that kind of information.
