Me Logan and Nick are sitting at a lunch table together.
"Excuse me. Excuse me, everyone. Hello." Evan says but no one pays attention.
"Give me your tray." I say to nick.
"Okay." He gives me it.
I stand up on the seat and carelessly drop it on the floor. Bang! Everyone looks at me.
"There." I smile and sit back down next to Nick.
"Thanks." Evan says.
"My pudding." Nick looks at me. I shrug and continue to eat my lunch.
"Hello, everyone. My name is Evan. A few of you may know me from the viral video of my mom." He earns some laughs and claps.
"Yeah. I'll admit it is a good watch. But the thing it, everything she said in that video was true. I used to be a Mighty Duck. It was awesome being part of the cool kids, sitting at the cool table." He points to the table.
"But I always felt like I was hanging on, trying to prove I could be a part of that, but not anymore. Because what I've realised is that Ducks aren't the center of the universe. Sure, they may be stronger. They may be more athletic. They may even smell better. But the second I was cut from the team, they cut me from their lives. But in a weird way, I'm happy I was cut. Because now I'm starting a new team. Just me, nick, y/n and Logan. And all we need is a few more players. Yeah, it's gonna be different. We may not win a lot, but we are gonna have each other's backs. We will play with heart. So is there anyone who wants in? Is there anyone who understands a little bit of what I'm trying to say?" Everyone looks around the room until one girl stands up.
"I'm in. I've never played hockey, but I think I might have an inner rage that really needs a outlet." The girl states.
"Thank you, Lauren Gibby." Evan says In excitement.
"I also own nunchucks." Lauren says.
"Do not bring those to practice." Evan says, then another girl stands up, one of the 'popular girls'.
"I get it. I always feel like I'm hanging on. It's exhausting. Constantly being nervous and trying to fit in with this group. So I want to join you. I mean, can I? Is that okay or..." the girl asks the blonde girl.
"Very okay. Bye-bye." The blond girl says. I glare at her.
"Hey, Sam. I dare you to join our hockey team." I stand up and shout, stopping Sam from walking.
"Somebody dares you to do something, you gotta do it, right? I'm there." Sam smiles. I nod.
"All right. We just need one more player." Evan looks around. Sofi nearly stands up but is interrupted by a girl standing up.
"And I'm... Just gonna throw this Gatorade bottle away. So not with ya." She throws it but Koob catches it.
"That's not cool. What you said has moved me. I will be your wall." Koob says with a very straight face.
"Thank you, Koob13! Guys, guys, I think we did it. Men don't cut their grapes." Evan shoves a grape in his mouth, he of course chokes on it.
"I get it. That's why I stick to raisins." Nick points to himself.
