"Y/N-"
"Shut up, Liam."
He was totally trying to wake you up. You know you should be grateful, for both him and that scholarship you got. But you weren't ready to be humiliated. Everyone would know you were a scholarship kid. One with some deep, dark secret for as to why the government felt bad enough for you to give you a scholarship to a school that normal kids would die to get into.
"Y/N..." he growled. "I could just throw you off the bed myself. You do realize that right?" You quickly sat up, hair messed up, eyes still swollen and puffy from sleeping, a pissed off look on your face.
"And I could blow your ears out," you say groggily. "Your point?"
He sighs. "I don't even know why you insisted on staying here. Didn't the scholarship include room and board?"
You roll your eyes.
"So you have no excuse then. Y/N, you can't hate it before you even show up. I mean," his blue eyes begin to glow. He moves you from the bed to the floor without lifting a finger. You shiver.
"The floor is cold."
"So is the room."
"Who's fault is that?"
"I'm trying to kick you out, obviously. Y/N, I don't have a problem with you staying here-"
"Alright then." You begin to crawl back under the covers until Liam moves them off the bed. "Let me finish."
"I don't mind you staying here if you need a place to crash. But that's it. Just to crash. You have a place of your own now, even if it's just for a little while. You even moved all of your stuff in already, so I don't know why you keep trying to stay."
You fling open his closet and grab a red sweatshirt. "I'm wearing this today, I'll give it back." You feel him staring at you as you throw it on, the hem reaching your mid-thigh. He runs his hands through his hair. "You'd better. I'm tired of replacing the ones you steal from me." You walk to the kitchen and begin to raid the fridge.
"A sweatshirt and leggings? Isn't it getting a bit cold for that?"
You glance at him. "I don't have my clothes. Also, it's August. Plus, it's college; it doesn't matter what you wear anyways." You say while pouring a bowl of cereal. "Well, it's not my fault you didn't bring anything. Any civilized person would be in their own room at 10pm. Especially if it's free." You gasp. "I thought you appreciated my company!"
"I swear you do this on purpose, Y/N."
You shrug. "Maybe. Hey, are my shoes where I left them? Or do I have to steal something else of yours?"
"You can't even fit my shoes. You'd look like an idiot." He says as he grabs them and puts them in front of the door. You place the bowl in the sink. "You're an idiot." You mumble. You feel something hit your back. "Liam what the f-"
"At least wear a coat. I'm not taking care of you if you get sick."
You pick it up from off of the floor and throw it on. "Thanks big bro." You can practically hear him rolling his eyes. "You're already late, just pray that the teacher doesn't care." You give a thumbs up and open the door.
"Y/N."
"What now?"
"Go to your dorm after classes. Your roommate might think you're dead if you keep this up."
You hesitate. "Fine." You walk out the door.

The school was a jogging distance away, but since you really aren't in a hurry, you just walk. A bright pink, energetic girl with horns comes up from behind you.
"Hey!"
You jump. "Do I know you?"
She laughs. "Probably not, but you looked so depressed walking alone! Are you headed to UA too?" You nod. "Awesome! I'm Mina Ashido by the way. You don't have to tell me your name if you don't want to."
'You're right, I don't want to.' You thought.
You two walk in silence for a while, her appearing to enjoy your company while you just want to be alone. You got used to it after a while though. "She's not too bad. I guess she realized I'm not much of a talker."
"Hey, which class are you headed to?"
You shrug. "Japanese History. You?" She lets out a whistle. "Dang, that's a rough class to have first thing in the morning. It's not too hard though, thankfully. But if you ever need help, you know who to ask!" She says confidently, a smile beaming across her face. You nod.
"Yeah, okay."
You keep walking until you realize you're alone. You look back.
"Where are you going, silly? Japanese History is that way." She points to the end of the corridor. You take a moment to realize how huge the school is. "What floor is it on?" You ask out of curiosity. "Oh! It's on the fourth floor." You let out a sigh. Of course it is.
"Each year is on a higher floor. If you take advanced classes, you have to go higher up the building! I think they do this to keep us in shape, not to mention our passing periods are only about 10 minutes long." You give her a blank stare.
"I'm headed to the fourth floor too! We can go together: come on!" She grabs your hand and dashes down the corridor.

2 flights in
"I can't do it Mina, I'm gonna die here," You pant.
The pink haired girl looks back at you. She skips down the stairs to meet you where you are and grabs your hand.
"Look at me."
Gasping for air with one hand on your knee and the other in hers, you meet her eyes. They're pitch black, but her irises are a golden color. You catch your breath.
"You can do this. I believe in you." Her words echo in your brain, and you grip her hand.
"Okay," you stand up straight. "Let's do it."

4th Floor of UA
"Yeah! We made it! High five!" You comply. "See? I told you you could do it!" She lets out a big sigh.
"Everyone is here for a reason, no matter how they got here." Stretching, she does a twirl and stops in front of you. "I believe you're here for a reason too. I mean, you're pretty mysterious, but I think you're lots of fun!" She smiles brightly again.
"F/N L/N."
"Is that your name?"
You begin walking. "Yeah."
The hallway you're in now is much bigger than the last one, with huge windows lining the walls, illuminating the room with natural light.
"I love it." She says beside you, looking at the view of the courtyard below.
"403 is your classroom number, so right up there." She points to the second-to-last door towards the end of the hallway.
"Ah..." You feel a wave of sadness blow through you. She was really nice, and you kind of didn't want her to leave yet. You turn to say thank you, but she's sliding down the hallway on some sort of liquid substance.
"That must be her quirk...but why is she going the other way?"
Suddenly, the classroom door opens.
A girl about your height with a bob and earphones protruding from her earlobes gives you a smirk. She mouths,
"Welcome to hell."
