Chapter Ten: The Darkness Around Us

I look around, inky black surrounds me.

"Hello?" I say, it's not my voice though. I can't recognize it, it's strained and sounds weak. What's going on? All of a sudden, a bright blue blaze circles me.

'Y/n!' Riolu runs to me, just outside of the flames, getting into a defensive stance immediately. From what, I don't know. The blackness is too thick to see. Purple and yellow flames then envelope Riolu.

"No! Stop!" I shout, pain shooting around my body like an out of control fire, but I'm fine? "Riolu...? Are you okay..?" I look down where I was kneeling, my clothes are torn and dirty, like I've been attacked by a Pokémon.

"Y/n....." He says. "My friend... I'm fine..." He stands up with a little effort. He starts to glow, his new form revealing a Lucario. He glows with a rainbow light and get enveloped in a pinkish orb. It shatters, leaving me amazed as I spot the rare occurrence, Mega Lucario.

Then, another voice came. One that chills me... It's Arceus's voice, "Mega Evolution...?" I see a red blaze in the sky, "How cute... You really care that much...!!!" A slowed, wicked laugh rings from the darkness.

"Arceus! Stop!" I say, my voice echoes for a moment, rain started to fall from the sky, "You'll destroy this whole planet!"

"That's the point!" A man shouts, a black figure walks in from nowhere. No details show. He called out to Arcues, "Destroy them!"

A large blue flame comes at me, and it all goes black.

"Y-Y/n...?" I hear Riolu whimper.

"Riolu..?" I get up, sitting next to him. He pops up and hugs me.

"I had the weirdest dream... I-I evolved... Twice..? I was..."

"Protecting me..?" I finish, "I had the same dream...?" I hear a girlish giggle in the corners of my room. All of a sudden, Cresselia fazes in from the shadows.

"Y/n, it's nice to see you again!"

I put your hand on your chest and sigh out of relief, "Cresselia... Please don't scare me like that..."

"Hee hee... Sorry. I brought you a message from Arceus.." Looking down, it's eyes show grief, "The dream both of you had.. It's a warning..."

"A warning..? What can you tell us..?" I ask quietly.

"Not much... But... We're all going to be here for you. they're going to come for you, Y/n. Be careful."

"Don't worry, We'll be here. How long do we have..?"

"They won't be here in a day, or a week. But you gotta train. Hindu is your strongest Pokémon. And even he won't be able to help you out in the end." She shakes her head, letting out a mysterious chuckle, "I believe that you won't let us down." They wink and faze out. Shaking my own head, I look down to Riolu, he seems very shaken up about Cresselia's news.

"Riolu..? You okay..?"

Those words, they seem to have made him cringe a little, "Y/n... Will our dream... Become reality...?" He quivers at his words, shifting place until he's right next to me.

"Riolu, buddy... We're in this together. Promise me one thing, will you?"

"Yes, Y/n... Anything..." His ruby red eyes glitter with the moonlight filtering through my blinds.

"Promise that you'll train with me. No matter who you're up against. We will overcome. We all need to get extra strong. Will you not?"

He hesitates, but the determination of his voice is like a fire, "I-I will try for you, Y/n... I owe you my life."
