Chapter Thirteen: The Power of Close Bonds Pt. One

"What!? Arceus was taken!!" The girls shout.

"Where did he take Arceus?" Piper asks.

"I don't know..." I answer honestly, giving Hana a pat and looking around. Luxeon eyes me, her blue eyes narrowing, watching what I'm doing.

"He doesn't even have Arceus's Pokéball, does he?" Hunter asks. She plays with the hem of her orange hoodie with anxiousness.

I shake my head, pulling out the item, "I kept it here with the others in my bag..."

"So what now?" Daisy asks.

"The plan is to confront him tonight. He asked me to meet him at Lunar Bay... I just hope no one is going to be there camping..." I pace back and forth with a hand over my mouth, "In that bag is a bunch of left over rare candy, can you split it up between you guys? There should be plenty left."

"I was wondering what was in there, but no thank you. My Pokémon are plenty strong, right Vaporeon?" The Bubble Jet Pokémon nods and smiles. Daisy pets it in response, "See?"

I laugh, despite the situation, "As much as I love the enthusiasm, I don't even know what we're going up against. This guy isn't from here. He's from the original Pokémon world, so this kind of stuff is natural to him. Please, reconsider."

"I suppose that's a good point..." Daisy says, "This'll be a great way to show you all the team I've been training! Hunter's already saw it, but I want show you my team! I train literally all day." She throws five Pokéballs into the air. Out came a Cinderace, a Boltund, a Butterfree, a Galarian Rapidash, and... A Zamazenta...! The Pokémon stretches and bounces around Daisy happily.

"How.. How did you  get this Pokémon?"

"Well.. About that..." Zamazenta howls, as if it's calling out to some one. Hunter throws her team out, an Infernape, a Gible, a Torterra, a Prinplup, her Celebi, and... a Zacian.... The two dog like Pokémon greet one another.

"Where did you find them?" I asked again.

"They were in the heart of the forest, right across the road from lunar bay. There's been lots of Pokémon sightings there, so Daisy and I decided to go and check it out. We hiked really far that day." Hunter explains, "They appeared out of the fog and helped us get back."

"Woah... That's cool..."

"Mana~!" Kaiyo says and comes up to the riverbed nearby.

"Woah! A Manaphy? Y/n, that's awesome!" Hunter says

"Kaiyo is still a baby. They did have the same amount of candy as everyone, but nothings changed... it's strange..."

"Give it time, Y/n. Kaiyo will grow. I think it's just because it's a mythical Pokémon. They grow slow." Hunter says. She picks up a tennis ball from her bag and tosses it away from her, and all the canine Pokémon chase after it and race each other.

"Your other Pokémon are looking strong, Hunter! Torterra especially!"

"Thanks! Watch this though!" She motions her Pokémon to come over. The Torterra is way taller than I thought it would be. She takes an Oran berry and places it on a soily patch on Torterra's shell. "Sparky! I have a berry for you!" A bit of rustling comes from the branches and a pink Pachirisu come down and noms on the berry. "Sparky came from the forest, too. She really wanted to live in Torterra's tree." The Pokémon sniffs me and hops on my shoulder, "With a face like that, who could say no?"

"Hello little guy!" I pet the little Pokémon's head, and it leans into my touch. Putting her back onto Torterra, I turn back to Hunter, "So you mentioned training? Let's do it! My Pokémon are already ready to go, so they can warm up before tonight. Come on!" We space far apart for battling. "Which Pokémon do you want to train right now?"
