[This was inspired by a fanfic I found on AO3 a while back, as well as a roleplay I had with a good friend of mine on Discord. Thanks to my boss for helping me with the angst at the end, heheh]
Jedediah and Octavius owe quite a bit to Larry. What a nightguard he surely was. The best one they've ever seen, especially since he was the one who made the two get together and realize that they may not be so different after all. Up until that point, they were nothing more than enemies. They could care less for the other, but now it was different. It feels like they couldn't ever leave each other at all. They used to always argue about being so close together, but now they wish their exhibits were closer.Sometimes, they feared that they won't be able to see each other again. Maybe one day the tablet would lose its power, or one of them would be taken away. The thought scared them a lot, especially now that they were officially dating. Everyone was happy for them, and they were happy themselves. Who even had the thought of these two would be getting along, let alone become lovers? Nonetheless, it surely was fruitful. They complete each other.
Though with every relationship, also comes every problem that comes as the consequences of being, well, in a relationship. As the closer they got, the more they found out about each other; the more they found out about who their lover really is like.
And the more Octavius got irritated with Jedediah's juvenility. The Roman must admit, Jedediah is fun to be with. He's loud and zealous, never afraid to take risks. Though of course, as bodacious Jedediah is, there's always a downside to every good quality he has. And now Octavius sees that. Jedediah is always so chaotic and doesn't bother to take a second to take a breather. Every part of his life is a fast adventure, and sometimes he doesn't even realize that he's hurting others.
He was becoming more of a nuisance, especially to Octavius. And no matter how much he loves him, he's sick of it. Octavius may be more on the introverted side, but he surely won't hold back his feelings, even if he's fully aware that it would certainly break someone.
And yet again, tonight Jedediah was causing quite the ruckus. He was trying to take the time to train his men - teach them a few more things - but how could one possibly concentrate when there's a group of annoying cowboys, yelling and blowing things up.
Of course, it was Jedediah who was behind all of this, having his little cowboy friends to tag along and agree to all of his childish plans. At first, Octavius tried to let it go and continue on with the training session, not until another loud boom was heard from behind him, and now all of his soldiers are fixated on staring at the gaping hole in the wall. The wall between the two is actually quite thin, and despite everything they own basically being like toys, the Old West somehow always has their ways in making their non-threatening materials actually be quite destructive. An example of that would be the problem of the hole in the wall.
From the other side, yells of both juvenile happiness and surprise could be heard, while some others were surely worried and stupefied that they managed to even blow up the wall. Octavius facepalmed as he groaned, hearing his men behind him murmur about the situation at hand.
Jedediah peeked a little from the hole, "Sorry Octy! Me and my boys were just screwin' around and, uh, yeah, accidentally blew a hole in the wall.. But hey, no biggie. We gone fix it for ya!", and there he left.
This was the last straw for Octavius. He inhaled sharply before he would actually lose it, especially in front of his men. Speaking of his men, he turned back to them and announced, "Apologies, but training must be postponed for now. As you may already tell, I have some urgent matters to discuss with our..." A stressed sigh inevitably escapes his lips. "...Neighbours on the other side."
