Bismillah
Firdausi, Jannah
I picked a tissue on my bedside drawer and blow my nose, wiping a drop of tear that fall on my cheek. Yes I'm crying, nothing is wrong I'm just reading a novel, like how can people be cruel I know it's fiction but it does happen to some people, right? I dropped the book on my bookshelf, looked at my phone, it kinds of brightened my mood because I like new phones and I got that as a present from my dad just yesterday it is an iPhone 12, I grabbed it and head for downstairs, I know it's time for breakfast.
"Mommy good morning" I smiled hugging my mom
"Morning dear, how was your night?" She asked and that's how I summarize the whole book to her that I read yesterday night, she look bored but I just need someone to tell so I ignored her expression and continue.
"It's indeed a tragedy end," she said which only make me talk more "Like Mommy how can he lose everything and in the end lost her, I think the writer isn't been fair"
She smiled before pushing me to the dining table "let's eat first"
I opened the warmers on the table and I'm already salivating that I forgot about the novel that stuck in my mind.
After my breakfast, I changed into a blouse with jeans, picked a new novel, and move to my favorite place in the house, the balcony. I just enjoy sitting there, looking at the peaceful view of Kaduna, it's the sight I cherish the most.
My ringing tone brought me back to reality and seeing the name that appears on my screen made my lips curve into a smile.
"Hey baby," I said immediately I picked up "hey boo, so what's up, you free, I wanna come over"
"Must you ask, you know I'm always free" I said
"I just wanna be sure, I'm coming in an hour," she said before hanging up. I smiled, I do miss my best friend.
My name is Firdausi, Jannah Nasir Maikafi. I'm 21 years old, done with my degree in computer science at Nile University, I like reading, I don't talk much but if you know me, I'm a chatterbox. You'll get to know me as time goes on.
"Mommy, Ummi is coming over"
She smiled "it's been a while she came here"
"Just last week" I remind her, but I didn't want to remember any of it because to me that last week was like a nightmare.
"Is she coming alone?" Mommy asked bringing me out of my thoughts
"Maybe, I'm not sure," I said and lie her bed, picked up my phone to reply to some messages, and go through some Instagram pages.
*****
"Mommy ina wuni" Ummi greeted hugging my Mom
"Lafiya Ummi, how's the holiday"
"Alhamdulillah" she smiled before looking at me giving me a let's go look
"Mommy let me steal this your daughter for some minutes," I said taking Ummi's hand and dragging her out of the room, and when I said minutes I mean hours
"So you're leaving me all alone," Mommy said when we are out of the room
"Sabriyya and the others will be back soon" I yelled back before making our way upstairs.
