Firdausi Jannah
Khaleel's words get to me, I haven't been myself since then. I know I didn't have a boyfriend but I'm still scared. I have to do something but what can I do? I don't want to involve my parents in this because if my dad finds out, it's going to be a different story.
"Mommy good night, I'm kind of having a headache I'm sleeping early," I said to my mom who's busy watching
"Did you take medicine?"
"Nah, I'll just sleep for now" I make my way to my room and collapsed on my bed.
I just need time to think, I can't accept his proposal, I can't date him, it's not like I never dated anyone I did but that time I'm not serious so I didn't have feelings for all my ex's. Khaleel is dangerous I know and I won't play with fire.
My phone beep indicating a message, I pick the phone and this is what I see
"Sleep tight baby, hope you dream about me"
Yours lovely
Bad boy😎Just who the hell did he think he is? I don't know but everything about him annoys me. I flip my phone and drag my duvet over my face, I need a way out of this mess.

"What's wrong with you, did something happen?" Ummi asked sitting on my bed
I can't lie to her so I sit up and sigh "I met that guy yesterday"
"Khaleel?" She asked in disbelieve "So you even know his name" she never mentioned his name to me so I thought she didn't know
"Yeah but it's of no use, what did he say, did he harm you, he didn't touch you did he"
"Which one should I answer first" I smile, my first smile since the event that happened yesterday.
"Well he just threatened me again, he even has the guts to call me sweetheart, imagine" I rolled my eyes dramatically "he even touch my cheeks and I stood like an idiot looking at him" a tear fall on my chin and I immediately wipe it
"It's OK, nothing is going to happen, Insha Allah, don't cry baddo am" she smiled and hugged me
We hardly speak Fulfulde when we are alone except if we are with our parents. Ummi is my cousin, her mother and my mom are cousins but her mom was raised by my grandparents so they are more like sisters than cousins which makes ummi my cousin instead of the second cousin.
Our fathers are best friends since before getting married so her parents are like my parents and vice versa. Even though Mama married a Hausa man, she never let us speak Hausa because she believe that we will end up without language. We are forced to speak fulfulde and now I'm proud that I am one.
"Wake up sleepy head" she shakes me vigorously
"Just leave me alone haba" I murmured sinking deeper into my bed I heard her footsteps departing only for her to stand by the door "Mama o ummayi" (she refused to wake up) she yelled
"O wala hakkilo koh toh midauwara" (is she mad, I'm coming) I heard Mama's faint voice which means she's downstairs.
I quickly get up and rush to the door "Mama din fyaure, mi ummi fah" (Mama she's lying I am awake)
I eyed ummi before going back to the room. I did my morning routine, dressed in a plain gown before joining them in the dining room.
Days turn to week and Abba and aunty (Ummi's parents) are coming back today. We woke up early and got dressed because we are going to Ummi's house, I'm also spending a week there. We are used to sleepovers since childhood and Ummi have been the only child, she always gets bored so we are always together whether with my parents or hers. Some people thought we are twins even though I'm 2months older than her but she's a bit chubbier than I am and we do look alike not that much though.
