I woke up, my head pounding. I ignored it, getting up and walking around. The halls looked like they never ended. I still felt lightheaded, my brain a bit fuzzy.
People walked down the halls, mumbling. Obviously about me. I Reached my fathers office, seeing no one. I started to panic. He usually never leaves his office, if he needs something he calls for it. I start stumbling around the room, looking for clues. My hands start to tremble as I see a puddle of blood. I yell, calling for a maid.
"No! We need him, I can't do this on my own." I cried, the maid collecting the blood. I fell to the floor. My heart pounded. The room spun, my mind running everywhere.
"Hurry! We need to find him!" I yell getting up and pushing the maid of the room, pushing her down the halls. After she was down the halls I searched the files on his desk. Throwing them off the desk. I started scattering items that sat on his desk. Some shattered, others didn't, I stared at a picture of my whole family. I sighed, my breath flowing out my mouth. The air was cold, sending shivers down my spine. I saw Veviorn, he stood in the hallway. His arms stood loosely to his side. The air turned cold and icy, my lungs starting to hurt.
" You left me.. You are letting my kingdom die!" He shouted, his voice echoing in my ears. I stumbled backwards a bit, shocked.
" Listen Veviorn.. I.. Have more important things to be worried about!" I shouted back, anger building inside me.
"You can't just burst into my Kingdom and expect a Favor." I growled, walking up to him. My breath being shown the closer I got. The air that circulated around him was thin and icy. My mouth and throat became dry.
" All I ask for is food. I need my people to survive. " He spoke, bowing his head down, not meeting my gaze. His voice was surprisingly calm. I squinted my eyes, unsure what to say. I huffed, turning around. Walking away, my head down.
The maids that passed bowing, looking slightly nervous. I could tell there was fury on my face, my cheeks felt flushed. My face felt as If it was boiling.
I continued to walk to my room, the maidens asking me questions. I ignored them, shoving past their line up. I threw open my door, throwing myself onto the cotton bed. I laid motionless, not wanting to move.
I sat on the bed until something clicked, not a door. Something in my head, an idea.
As I may not have much food, I do still have resources. I got up, putting on the wool cloak that sat on my chair.
"Time to go find dad!" I spoke feeling one more tear fall down my face. Those words reminded me of a memory. I was playing hide and seek with my father...
"Celestia! Imma find you!" My father giggled, opening cabinets and shutting doors. I sat there behind a door, giggling. I loved playing this game with my father. Whenever he found me it was so exciting. I would burst into laughter
"Flower, where you at?" He asked a bit concerned. He started looking frantic. I heard his footsteps getting closer. Heavy and noisy.
"BOO!" I yell jumping out behind the door. He jumped in surprise, smiling afterward. I could see the worry in his eyes, yet still happy.
"There she is!" He chuckled, picking me up and tickling my stomach. I giggled loudly kicking playfully.
The memory faded, I was at the horse stalls now. I Saw my horse, a Missouri fox trotter mare.
Her coat is a soft gray with black spots spread around. She grumbled as I grabbed the saddle and bridle.
I watched as her mane flowed in the wind. The cold wind tickled my nose.
"Come on fang. We have to go find dad." I whispered, putting my foot in the foothold. Pulling myself over his back. I steered him to where his tie was. I leaned over his head, untying the knot and unhooking it from his bridle.
He stood there, not moving. He didn't wanna go out in the cold. I don't blame him.
I gently knocked my foot against his rib cage. He huffed and stepped over the two-foot gate.
I felt the wind flow as he galloped at a meaningful pace. The snow started to fall, laying onto Fangs mane. He shook his head, shaking off the snow.
We were galloping through the frosty grass. We ran mile after mile. Not seeing anything but trees...
We eventually stumbled upon a cabin, maybe ten miles away from the castle. The walls are wooden and a mixture of grays and red stones. We walked around the cabin to see if there were any lights on. Fang shifted, her hoofs getting cold.
" I know it's cold, trust me. I'm just as cold as you are... " I sighed, gently running my hands through fangs mane. I hop down, holding the leash that is hooked to the bridle. He stands still, not moving. Staying put with a heavy huff.
" Come on Fang, chill out. I'll take inside, just don't eat any of the furniture." I watched as he grunted, stomping on the freshly laid snow. I pulled him to the porch of the cabin, tying his leash to a pole. I gave him enough room to where if he wanted to go under the shelter he could. He was able to reach the grass, as it may be frozen. The grass was still edible.
" Brr... It's cold. Did Vevoirn cause a storm or something..?" I say refusing to believe the last sentence. I watched as the doorknob steamed. How was there heat? It was like it was mid-December. When It's only late September, It shouldn't be chilly. I shouldn't be nervous to walk into this cabin.
I slowly set my hand on the doorknob, Feeling the steam burn my palm. I grasped the knob, screaming in pain as it scorched my palm. I heard shuffling behind the door, the rustling of items. Sounds like they were being thrown onto the ground.
