" You do realize she'll notice, right?" I asked, my eyes squinted, legs dangling over the edge of her throne. I felt the room go quiet, no one breathed. A distant yell was heard, fueled by anger. I stayed quiet, slowly moving off the throne. The red velvet material was overrated. Too much of a royal standard.
"I'm so tired of being royal!" I heard someone yell, watching as they busted through the doors. Their hair was a light purple. Ram horns poked out of the side of her head. Everyone gasped. She walked backward, shutting the door behind her.
I got up, swinging my legs off the armrest. Setting my feet on the ground I walked to the old iron door. Rust starting to set at the knob. I swung the door open, listening to the mutters in the room behind me.
"Hey, Zeika right? Queen of the northern kingdom." I ask, slightly nervous while closing the door behind me. She looked at me, pulling her hood off of her cloak over her head. Hiding the horns that poked out. She held her head low. Speaking very little.
"Yes, can I help you? " She spoke quickly and quietly. Glancing up and looking me up and down. "Are you the queen here? I am supposed to be meeting them.."
I took the crown off my head, hiding it behind my back. I let out a huff. Quite embarrassed.
" No, the actual queen is um... Missing. I know who took her. I'm not going to rescue her though. She's my absolute enemy." I growled, my voice unsteady and my eyes drifted. She looked up shock all over her face. She huffed out of frustration.
" I come from the Northern Hemisphere just to be told this?" She was angry, her voice was elevated. Too calm for it to be normal. She turned away, pulling the hood off of her head. Her lilac-colored hair fell down to her hips. She turned back to me, her eyes a shock of yellow.
"But you have to understand! She's adopted into the bloodline. Her blood isn't gold, it's blue. It's normal, she's a commoner." I yelled, my face starting to burn. My cheeks probably flushed, my eyes squinted.
"Her mom was a commoner! She had no choice to have blue blood, its not her fault." She snapped, her eyes wide.
"And what's that supposed to mean for me? I am pure gold blood, I should be the queen. At least something in the royal empire!" I cried, my tone was desperate. I watched as Zeika's face shifted from anger to a sly smile.
"Well... Maybe, I have an idea." she started poking her head over the railing on the sides.
" You bring the queen back and I will get you a position in the royal courting," Zeika replied, tying rope loosely around one of the white concrete rails. She pulled the hood over her head. Her horns slid into the holes cut out for them. I watched as a shadow closed over her face, leaving no way to identify her.
" Will do, I guess..." I sighed watching her every move." When am I to have this done by?" I asked, anxiety poking at my stomach. The butterflies started to stir, many rising and making me nauseous. "Actually, I don't think I can do it. There's so much that could be wrong. I could die, the queen could get loose. I could-" I whimpered before being interrupted.
" Listen, want to Live? Want to have a royal life? I suggest you do It, it's just an option." she barged in, leaving me no room to speak. She leaped.
I watched as her purple hair flew in front of her face, she stood on top of the rail facing me but she fell backward. She lapsed, the rope held tightly onto her waist. I gasped, my eyes wide. Out of instinct, I looked over the rail and she stood at the other staircase. She glanced up at me, looking at me for a second. I looked away, relieved.
I knew questions were gonna be asked. I stepped away from what happened, sliding the golden crown back onto my head. I pushed open the heavy wooden doors. The other kingdoms huddled together, talking.
" I'm Taking back what's mine. I need Veverion." I spoke, looking directly at his wife. " Amelia, please. Get him as soon as you can."
Amelia held her head down, a frown settled onto her face.
"I'll get him as soon as I can. He's...Well..Busy." Amelia spoke, struggling to finish her sentence.
