A guy at the dj booth used a microphone to get everyone's attention as the music stopped abruptly by his hand, "guys, Dylan just called. He said he saw three cop cars headed this way on Old Dell Road."

Suddenly everyone started running as I turned around, Reid grabbing my hand as all the boys laughed and we began to jog off, I had an intense feeling that he made that guy vomit back there but I let the thought go as we ran off into the woods, making sure to safely set the lizard on a rock before we disappeared into the dark spooky forest.

Eventually we all slowed down to a walk as we neared the location of the hidden car lot where everyone had parked, "you need a ride?" Caleb had asked my sister, while they walked ahead of us, I already knew the answer of course as Kate answered for her, "no, Sarah drove us out here."

"Will I see you back at the dorms?" It was cute watching Kate and her boyfriend flirt I guess, "It's getting late. I'm just gonna crash, call me in the morning?"

I groaned as I realized what would be going on in our dorm tonight, "please tell me we aren't having a weird sleepover where we talk about nail polish and who has that fattest ass tonight." Sarah had picked up a small rock and tossed it at me with a playful laugh as I smiled, Kate taunting me with the idea that we could always just have a pillow fight instead.

The guy from before popped up near us after a few minutes of walking and started getting closer, only to talk to my sister as he glanced at the group of boys accompanying us, "can I have a lift?" My sister nodded, replying, "no problem."

"Hey clothes?" I nodded at Sarah's words after she knocked her hand into my shoulder, moving to strip the shirt I borrowed off as she did the same with my jacket. I swore I could feel Reid's eyes on me as I slipped my jacket over my tank top right before we reached the parking area.

"Let's ride," I cracked my knuckles with a laugh as I jogged over to my bike ready to leave, "holy shit, nice," I nodded with a smirk on my face as I swung my leg over the side hopping onto the seat as I slid my helmet on, Sarah's voice soft as she bid her goodbyes, "good night."

"See you at the dorm, be careful Ember."

I nodded as they boys all nudged each other in the rushed moment, "hey, guys, let's go. We gotta go before the cops come." I watched everyone get into their respective cars as I waited for my sister to start her car.

"Sarah wants you, man." The four boys had hopped into the large car and were talking, "That's bullshit."

My sister was trying to start her car as Caleb watched from the back seat, "Oh, now. Don't be jealous, Reid." He only snorted, "Nah, got my eye on another sweetheart." She gave up and opened the door yelling out, "My car won't start!" He rolled the window down and stuck his arm out as I watched, "Hop in with us." She didn't like the idea of leaving her car, "I can't just leave it here!"

I lifted my viser and yelled at her quickly so we could all get out of here, "I got it!" I hopped off as I Jogged over quickly pulling the hood up, all I did was tap the engine before a green spark shot out followed by a yellow one, "Start er' up," I closed the hood not looking up until I turned towards my bike, "Holy shit, thank's Ember."

I flipped my viser down as I hopped back on my bike cranking it on as my eyes glowed through my helmet as I watched her drive off. I didn't notice the guys watching me as I drove off behind her. Behind us I noticed from my mirrors that they switched drivers as they pulled out behind me, their eyes on my back as I sped off fast dodging trees as I skirted off in a different direction.

I wasn't lost but it definitely took me a few minutes to get to the asphalt road. It was long and winding around the surrounding forest, and somehow I had pulled out of the forest right behind Sarah's car. I followed her all the way back to the academy knowing that I'd probably take hours to get there on my own if I didn't, "I can't wait to go to sleep."

I had pulled into the parking lot behind my sister and our new friends, Chase the new guy, ended up walking us all the way inside and up to our dorm room, "we must be the last ones in."

I watched as they turned to look at each other outside Kate and Sarah's room, weirdly at that exact moment I saw Chase's eyes widen as he reached towards Kate's shoulder, snatching up a large spider from it, "just a sec."

I was internally in awe at the size of the spider but that ended kind of quick, "ew, oh my god." He dropped it onto the floor and stepped on it, making a nasty squishy noise as he smiled at Kate, "hate those things, and they're all over this place," I was saddened at the death of the creature as Chase smiled at Kate, "thank you."

Sarah gave Kate a look as she spoke, "aw, see? Chivalry's not dead after all." I guess not but wasn't Kate in a relationship with that Pogue guy, "no, it just transferred in."

Kate turned her emotions around quickly, a new thought on her mind, "hey, we're gonna go into town tomorrow for some things. Do you need to pick up any stuff?" I think she liked Chase and it bothered me a bit because it seemed like she was flirting with him, "Sure. I'm in 311. Call me."

"Okay," I noticed how everything was dark except their dorm light, I went ahead saying goodnight as I walked into my own room, one that I had to myself.

Unfortunately, after a short while both girls had joined me in my room for some reason and we sat talking about everything that happened throughout the night, "he's hot huh." They were in the middle of talking about the Chase guy when they came barging in and had simply kept on about it.

"Listen to you," Sarah abruptly paused, remembering something from earlier at the party, turning towards her roommate she asked her question, "so why do you call them 'The Sons of Ipswich'? What are they? Like, a boy band?"

She laughed at her while I watched in amusement, "You know what? I like you. You're funny. Not like all the other stuck-up bitches." At Kate's words I actually snorted out a laugh, "no. They're supposedly descendants of five families that settled the Ipswich Colony in the 1600s. Old money." I nodded along with Sarah as she explained it to us, until she wasn't, "you know Caleb and Reid were both checking you guys out tonight. In fact Reid seemed pretty into you Ember, like really into you," I faked a shocked and surprised face as I fanned myself in a joking manner, "but if it were me, I'd go for Caleb."

I frowned at her words, "yeah, not my type," She smiled almost knowingly as Sarah questioned her, "why?"

"He's just one of those majorly good guys, you know?" No doubt she would tell us exactly why but I really couldn't care less about the Caleb boy and my sister's interest in the guy.

"Well, how do you mean?" She started taking her long sleeve shirt off, "well like he could stay here in the dorms and party with the rest of us, but he stays at home to take care of his mom."

That's actually pretty sweet, not something I would just expect right on the dot like that, "what's wrong with her?" I glanced at Sarah, it sounded personal, "after Caleb's dad died, she became a bit of an alcoholic."

"So is he seeing anyone?" My brows furrowed as my sister changed the subject abruptly, no doubt uncomfortable with what she asked and the answer provided, "so we are interested, technically everyone but my boyfriend is single, even Reid." She looked back at me with a smirk, I stopped paying attention at that point until Sarah walked out of my bathroom in only a towel, "or creepy."
