Sunday zoomed by. I took my midnight walk with Iris, and I overslept Monday morning. All I had to do was make it through school. After school, I was going to meet with Kai, Kaori and the gardener.

Class passed by slowly. When I reached my english class, I hesitated to tell her what happened, but I knew I should tell her anyway.

"You're going to meet him today in the park?! Aww! How romantic!" she squealed.

"For the last time, I don't like him-"

"Well I hope it goes well. He'll fall in love with you in an instant - you're so cool," she cheered me on. I looked away, embarrassed.

I'd never been in love before, and I never wanted to be, but what if I was?

The bell dismissed school, and I darted out the door. I immediately ran to the park without stopping at my house. I rummaged through my backpack to see if I had anything I could give him, but that would be awkward, and all I had was textbooks and flower seed packets.

A couple minutes passed by, and I sat by the plant bed with the bluebells. What if they didn't show up? What if he didn't want to see me?

"Hurry up! she's waiting!" I heard Kaori's voice.

"Yeah! Don't be shy, lover boy!" teased Kai. I saw the group turn the corner, and there they were. Kaori, jumping and running with a flower in her hand, and Kai, teasing. And there he was - the blue-eyed brown-haired boy I saw the other week.

Kaori yelled my name from across the street. She ran towards me with the rose in her hand. "Your boyfriend has a flower for you!"

"Huh-"

"Come on, El! She's waiting!" Kai was dragging the boy by his hand. It was the most embarrassing meeting possible. They finally crossed the street, and Kai pushed the boy into me.

"Hi, I'm so sorry about them," he said.

"It's okay," I felt butterflies fighting in my stomach. Great.

"My name's-"

"This is Eleven," Kai snatched the rose from Kaori's hand and pushed it into my face. "And this is for you. From Eleven."

I took the rose.

"Yeah, I'm growing roses in my backyard, and Kaori forced me to pick one for you," he told me.

"Well it's very pretty," I smiled. I saw him fidgeting with his hands. "It's you, isn't it? You're planting these flowers here in June's park?"

"Yeah, but for the longest time, I didn't want people seeing me... but when I saw more flowers appearing, It was comforting. But at least you shared my joy," he admitted.

"Awww! How romantic!" Kaori squealed.

"Shut up Kaori! You're ruining their moment!!" Kai shushed her.

Eleven's face turned red and he turned away from the kids.

"This is so embarrassing. I told the kids someone else at the park liked flowers, and look at them now," he chuckled. His blue eyes became little crescent moons when he laughed.

"I think they're kinda sweet." I looked down at the bluebells. "You planted these first. I remember it because I saw them on my night walk. They're really pretty. You take good care of them, I can tell."

"I try," he told me. "Your flowers are pretty too."

"Aw, thanks. Come, let's sit."

I sat on the grass next to the planter boxes. He sat beside me, and the kids were running around like crazy on the grass.

"How did you get into flowers?" he asked me.

"I got into them because I saw that someone was planting beautiful flowers in this park," I admitted.

"Oh, me? I didn't know it was all because of me..." he looked at me, then at the flowers.

"Well, here's something I always wanted to do," I pulled some rose seeds from my backpack. I inhaled slowly.

"Do you want to plant flowers with me?"

"Of course," he replied. I took some seeds from the packet and placed some in his hand. My fingertips grazed his palm, and he looked up at me.

We poked our fingers into the dirt of the last empty planter box, putting the seeds in the holes. I took my water bottle from my backpack and poured some water on the seeds.

"I always wanted someone to do this with," he admitted. I smiled at him, and he smiled back. His eyes were the color of the cloudless sky, and I inched closer to him.

"What's your favorite flower?" I asked him.

"Well, what's yours?" he asked back.

"Bluebell," I responded.

"Dahlia," he replied.

I looked at the dahlia I planted with the letter. There were two blooms, and I picked one for him. He walked to the bluebells and picked a few for me. I sat on the floor between all the planters and sighed, watching him tie the bluebells together.

"I learned how to make flower crowns as a kid. Here, I hope this one fits your head," he sat behind me and placed the flower crown on my head. I turned around to face him.

"You look... really pretty," he told me, beginning to blush. Before he could look away, I took his hand and placed the dahlia in his palm. His fingers closed around the stem, and he brought the flower to his face.

"I'm so glad I met you," I told him. We watched Kaori and Kai fight with twigs. "I guess it's all thanks to them."

"I could say the same," he said and tucked the dahlia behind his ear.

We sat facing each other for a minute, and he got up. He helped me up and smiled at me as we walked around the park.

"I should show you my garden someday," he told me. "You'll love all the bluebells."

"You have a nice smile, you know." I looked at him awkwardly. "Well, and yes. I'd love to see your garden."

"I'll take you someday, but for now, let's take a walk."

His hand was soft despite his countless hours in the garden, and I leaned closer to him. After we finished a lap around the park, we sat on the bench near the flower beds.

"Have you ever loved someone before?" he asked me.

"I've never been in love - but I know I feel something for you," I admitted, and I leaned in to press my head against his chest. His fingers weaved through my hair, and I clasped onto his hand. It was a long awaited moment, but I finally met him. I guess they were right, my teacher, Jade and the kids. I really did have feelings for him. I looked into his bright blue eyes as he smiled at me once more.

"I feel the same too - and I'm happy I met you."
