𝐓𝐇𝐄 118, 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐀 𝐒𝐀𝐘 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐈𝐓. Well she'd say it was a family away from her family, of course she lived her own personal family, but the 118 was just a different one. It brought and gave her a different type of comfort she sought for. However she had her own family to care for, a son and husband of her own. Valeria and her husband, Andrew "AJ" Strand, married at the age of 18 they were high school sweethearts doing what their hearts yearned for.

Then a year later Valeria and Andrew welcomed their son, Alejandro "Alec" Montezuma-Strand.

But two years later, Valeria and Andrew had joined the military.

Both her and her husband leaving their two-year old son, not behind them, but not with them either.

It was only like it for the first year, but it all came in a blur before Valeria and Andrew reunited with Alec.
After their first deployment the Montezuma-Strand family moved a few times before they settled in Los Angeles, the city where Valeria's family had lived.

The small little family enjoyed their time together whenever they could, yes, there were heartfelt times where Valeria had to leave for her deployment in Afghanistan, or when her husband had been moved to Germany. It was hard for her to leave her son while she never knew if she would ever make it back to him or Andrew.
