"Miranda?! Are you sleep already? I came back to bring you some food. I know you have to be hungry", Callie said walking into Miranda's house.
Miranda's scream was muffled under James's hand. "Quiet now.....I would hate for you anything to happen to your friend."
"Miranda!!!??", Callie said again putting the food down in the kitchen then coming to her room trying to open the door, but it was locked. "Miranda!!!"
"Funny you locked your door to keep me out properly knowing I was still in town, but I was already in your room. Now tell her you're getting dressed and just a second", he whispered.
He took his hand away and Miranda's chest was moving rapidly. "Just a second getting dressed", she tried to say through her tears.
"Miranda I've seen your bean bags plenty of times now open up", she joked but Miranda didn't respond. "Okay too soon for any jokes I'm sorry just open the door.
"Go on", he motioned for her to walk to the door. "Get rid of her now if you value your friend's life."
"She's not going to leave."
"Make her", he said as he cut Miranda's upper arm. "Now that you know that I'm serious, get rid of her."
Miranda grabbed her arm to put pressure on her cut to stop the bleeding. "I just want to rest alone tonight Callie", she said with her voice breaking.
"I'm not leaving you alone with everything going on."
"Please Callie just go home, I'll call you in the morning. Can you just go and stay with Ben tonight to make sure he's okay."
"And what about you? Who is going to make sure you're okay?"
"I'm fine, please!"
"Alright I'll go, but at least let me see that you're okay."
James put the knife on Miranda shaking his head no.
"Callie please just go", Miranda begged.
Ben had just woke up and he looked to his side seeing someone sitting there. He rubbed his eyes, "Miranda?"
"No, but she should be here Benjamin!", she said in a tone.
"Mom! What are you doing here?"
"Being your wife's eyes because she can't be here."
"She called you?"
"Yes Benjamin, she used her one phone call to call me to knock some sense into you. You know darn well this isn't Miranda's doing."
"Why wouldn't she call her best friend first?"
"Because unlike you Callie already was there for her without question. Why the hell is your wife behind bars because of James, Benjamin Warren?"
"Mom I don't know. I can't remember much of anything."
"I don't care what you can or cannot remember, I taught you better than this. You should've believed her, she's your wife Benjamin", she yelled.
"I know and I'm sorry mom."
"Don't apologize to me Benjamin, get out of this damn bed and go get your wife."
"Good girl Miranda, so you can listen. Get in the bed", James said.
"My arm is bleeding, can I at least patch it up first in the bathroom."
"Huuuuh Miranda, Miranda, Miranda", he said dragging the knife along the bed cutting the sheets. "For some reason I can't trust you, so no. NOW GET IN THE BED!", he yelled making Miranda jump.
