a month with SUNNY. (SUNFLOWER)

an idea?

it was nice.

BASIL was relaxed, though his grandma has passed recently; he felt at peace, well, mostly, his parents came around more often now, and even he and POLLY grew closer.

thats not to say he didn't miss her, of course he did, but he had more important things on his mind now.

SUNNY.

he missed his best friend so much, he wondered how so much could stay the same over these few months, nothing different was happening. BASIL was getting tired of it, he wanted something new, something interesting, something different.

he wanted SUNNY.

though he visited often, (at least twice a week) BASIL could never seem to keep his mind off of him, off of when he would tell him.

tell him that he loved him.

how would he tell him that he loved him?

when would he tell him that he loved him?

why would he tell him that he loved him? 

after all, even when they were little kids, SUNNY had eyes for AUBREY. didn't he?

BASIL threw the thought away, SUNNY visited often; and no matter how many times BASIL told himself: "this is it! this is the day i'll finally tell SUNNY!" it never happened, he was too flustered, too nervous.

but then BASIL thought.. why the fuck not?

BASIL decided to go visit KEL, he had told him already multiple times about his crush, though he didn't need to. since they were kids KEL could tell BASIL acted differently around SUNNY.

BASIL told him about his crush after SUNNY moved away, not immediately after, since things felt too sore and raw to bring a whole other bombshell into the mix, and.. he didn't trust KEL too much anyway.

but after a little bit of time, and working out when SUNNY would visit, (wednesdays and sundays, a strange schedule, but it was SUNNY, what could he expect?) he finally told KEL in confidence.

KEL didn't freak out as BASIL had expected him to, instead he just laughed and said: "yeah dude i know!" 

BASIL grew closer to KEL after this.

almost every week, right before SUNNY visited, BASIL took the trip to KEL'S house, to ask him for advice on what to do, and every week without fail, KEL hyped BASIL up.

though BASIL did never manage to admit his feelings, KEL supported him no matter what anyways.

this specific time though, it was a sunday, SUNNY was meant to be here today, but had texted everyone he couldn't make it because of some issue with his mom.

and this time, BASIL had something else he needed to discuss with KEL.
