Chapter 6 - "I want to know you more."

Taehyung: "This is the only way for me to know if she's related to that woman." He said while looking to the ceiling.

He closed his eyes and that painful event instantly flashed to his mind. It happened 13 years ago when Taehyung's parents were killed at their house. It was 9 PM, 8-year-old Taehyung arrived at their home, coming from his aunt's house. He was alone; someone was asked to take him to their house. Soon as he got into the house, he immediately noticed the bloodstain on the floor. After taking a couple of steps, he saw his dad laying on the floor, unconscious and was covered with blood. He cried in pain and called his mom's name. Wondering where his mom was, he walked towards the kitchen and saw his mom on the floor. To his surprise, a girl was standing beside her with blood on her hands. He saw her face. How can he forget those eyes, every part of her face? Seeing that situation at a very young age, Taehyung was broken into pieces. The girl who was standing in front of him run away. But Taehyung kept standing still, he couldn't move any parts of his body after seeing what happened.

Taehyung: He opened his eyes. "I need to know everything about her." He said with anger in his eyes.

After some time of thinking, he grabbed his phone and dialed a number. The person on the other line didn't pick up the phone on his first call. He tried again.
Taehyung: "Hi." He said in his low and husky voice.
Jisoo: "Hmmm. Yes?" She answered the phone with her eyes closed.
Taehyung: "Did you just wake up?" He asked.
Jisoo: "Yeah, I just woke up. Hmm. Who is this?" She immediately opened her eyes when she realized who the person could be. "Is it you? Taehyung?" She asked.
Taehyung: "Yeah. It's 10 AM. Get up and prepare. I'll take you out for lunch." He commanded.
Jisoo: "Huh? Lunch? Um, but why? And how did you get my number by the way?" She asked one after the other.
Taehyung: "You gave me your number last night. And why am I taking you out for lunch? Well, you told me that you like me and I said I like you too. So, I think it's fine if we go out and eat together." He simply answered. Hearing this made Jisoo sit down on the bed with eyes wide open.
Jisoo: "I said that? You like me to?" She's surprised.
Taehyung: "Yeah. So get up now and prepare. I don't accept a no whenever I ask someone out. Do you want me to pick you up?" He asked.
Jisoo: "Um, no. I can drive. Where are we going?" She answered. Just the thought that she's having lunch with him made her smile.
Taehyung: "I'll send the name of the restaurant. I'll see you by 11:00 AM." He said.
Jisoo: "Okay, see you Taehyung." She smiled.
Taehyung: "Okay, bye!" He said and ended the call.
Jisoo: "He asked me out." She said, smiling brightly. "What a lucky day! I'm so excited!" She exclaimed. She got up and went straight to the bathroom to prepare. Jisoo can't hide the happiness she's feeling.

Time skipped. Jisoo arrived at the restaurant where Taehyung told her to go. She went inside and looked around to see Taehyung. After a while of looking, she finally spotted Taehyung who was sitting at one of the tables near the windows. Taehyung was busy scrolling to his phone when he unknowingly looked in front of him.

Taehyung POV:
"Here she comes." He can't deny how beautiful she is even in a simple plaid dress. Jisoo was looking at him smiling. "Her eyes. It feels like I'm looking at the same eyes (the girl he saw when he was younger and Jisoo's eyes) but- But Jisoo's eyes are very expressive. I can tell how happy she is." Taehyung was stunned to see her.

Jisoo: "Hi!" She smiled brightly as soon as she reached where he's at.
Taehyung: "H-Hi!" He stuttered.
Jisoo: "I'm sorry, I'm late for a couple of minutes. I got stuck in the traffic." She explained.
Taehyung: "No, that's not a problem. You may sit down." He said.
Jisoo: "Okay." She smiled.
Taehyung: "Were you able to rest well? Isn't your head aching after last night?" He asked, trying not to show any emotions.
Jisoo: She suddenly felt awkward remembering how she was acting that night. "Ah, Um, yeah. I had enough rest and so far I don't have any hangovers." She smiled. "Aren't we going to order yet? I'm starving." She said, trying to change the topic. 
Taehyung: "I already did. I know you might be hungry since you just woke up an hour ago. I'm sure you haven't eaten anything yet. Food should be ready in a few minutes. I hope you will like what I ordered." He said.
Jisoo: "Okay. I will like it for sure." She smiled while looking at him. There were moments of silence for a while before the food came.
Jisoo: "Wahh! The foods look good. I'm excited to eat!" She said happily. "Can we eat now?" She pouted.
Taehyung: "Go ahead." He smiled a bit. Taehyung can see the excitement in her. 

Time skipped. They both finished their meal. 

Taehyung: "You liked the food?" He asked.
Jisoo: "Yes! I enjoyed it so much! Thank you!" She responded happily.
Taehyung: "Good." He plainly said. "There's something that I want to know." He continued.
Jisoo: "What is it?" She asked.
Taehyung: "Why do I feel like you know me? I mean, since the day we met, there were times when you made me feel like you know me even before?" He asked, looking straight at her.
Jisoo: "Huh?" She was surprised by his questions. "No, I-I haven't met you before. Maybe I just feel comfortable with you that's why I was acting that way." She was nervous.
Taehyung: "Is that so? Hmm, okay." He paused. "So, tell me more about you. Maybe you can talk to me about your family." He said, looking straight at her. This made Jisoo froze.
Jisoo: (On her mind: Why is he asking these questions?) "Um, is there a particular information you want to know?" She asked awkwardly. She doesn't really know how to answer the questions he might ask.
Taehyung: "Hmmm. I just really want to know about your family. Maybe if you have an older sister, your parents." He answered.
Jisoo: "You want to know about my family?" She's confused. (On her mind: What would I tell him?) She cleared her throat. "Well, I'm the only child. I don't have parents anymore." She was stuttering while saying this.
Taehyung: "Hmm. You live alone? How about your relatives?" He continued asking.
Jisoo: "Relatives? Um, I don't know where they are. I have a guardian though. But we don't live together." She explained. (On her mind: Why do I feel like his interrogating me?)
Taehyung: "I see. Okay." He forced a smile. (On his mind: I can feel that she's hiding something from me. I need to know more about her but that's just it for today. She might notice that I'm trying to get into something with my questions.) "I guess we're good to go? Let me just pay the bill then let's go somewhere you want to go." He said.
Jisoo: "Okay." She said, feeling nervous because of the questions he asked.
Taehyung: He stood up. "Let's go?" He said while offering his hand to hold her hand. Jisoo just stared at his hand for a while.
Jisoo: "Okay." She smiled awkwardly and intertwined her hand with his. "Why do I feel extra nervous today? This unusual." She thought.
Taehyung: He thought that he should act normal and do things that will make her believe that he's interested in her. "Your hand is cold." He said, holding her hand tighter.
Jisoo: "Um, yeah. I'm not really used to this." She said. They started walking out of the restaurant.
Taehyung: "Then better get used to it. Cause this is not the last time." He looked at her at his side and smiled. (On his mind: Act normal Taehyung!)
Jisoo: "Okay!" She said with a smile on her face. 

Night came. Jisoo was back at her condo. After they had lunch, they went to watch a movie and spent some time at the mall. She was happy that they're together again but something was bothering her.

"I'm sorry if you probably feel like things are happening so fast but I want us to spend more time together. I want to know you more. But- But I want to keep what we have as a secret. I don't really like others, our friends, to talk about my personal stuff. So, I hope it's okay with you if we keep our relationship a secret... For now." She remembered what Taehyung said before they parted.

Jisoo: "Something is not right. Why do I feel like he's not being real? Should I start reading his mind? If I do then I would feel guilty because that means that I don't trust him." She sighs deeply. "What's going on this time? Why do I feel this way? Why am I hurting this early?" She whispered with tears that started to fall on her face.
