Lexand looks up from the reception desk. A burly man has stepped into the small police station. The man has snow caked on the shoulders of his absurd leather coat. It's a sleek leather with fur lined on the inside.

Underneath the leather coat is a black turtleneck, black jeans and black boots. The man rests against the countertop and he slips his sunglasses off and sets them down on the counter top. Lexand looks up at the man with a frown.

His eyes are obsidian and gleaming as if they're catching any bit of light that dares reflect against them. The depth of the darkness causes Lexand to shiver, an uneasy feeling slithering up his spine and pulling him upright.

"Afternoon Sir. Everything okay?"

"Yes, Sheriff. I was hoping we could speak alone."

Lexand can feel himself gesture for his office. His legs pull him from the reception area. The muscular man makes Lexand feel small in his office. He motions for a chair in front of his desk and the man settles down.

Lexand rests against the door and he folds his arms over his chest. He can feel his heart rate increase and his palms dampened.

"What can I do for you...uh, your name?"

"You may call me Axel. Thank you for accommodating me so quickly. I just have a query really about the people who have moved into the mansion off of Scott's Avenue?"

Lexand frowns again. "What? What people?"

Axel leans forward in his seat and levels a serious look at the Sheriff. "How disappointing that you're that out of touch with your community."

"Wait what the...who are you? What do you want? When did-"

"Sheriff please, relax. I mean you no harm. I'll be back again soon. I trust by then you will have more information for me. And I do hope in the meantime we can keep this conversation between us. I'll see myself out."

Axel slips his shades back on and he walks out the police station. The snow is falling heavier now. The sun is dipping low and soon nightfall will claim the small town. Axel turns to the left and begins walking down town.
