The New Dad

Something is off

A month has past and every weekend I visit mom. She has been happier since her and dad got a divorce and she already has a new boyfriend. His name is Mike and he is pretty nice he thinks he is funny but not to be rude but lets say his jokes are pretty lame. Well I shouldn't judge him the

 only thing that matters if mom is happy with him. For dad well I don't know about him because after work he would go in his room and lock it. Sometimes I would hear him talking to someone or I will ask him who he is texting and he would say oh just someone special.

Now I don't care if he dates anyone but at least he could have told his own daughter? I don't know maybe I'm being to dramatic. One day I came home from school and dad was in the bathroom so I put some popcorn in the microwave and went on the couch to pick out a movie on Netflix.  Beep Beep I hear the microwave go off "that must be the popcorn" I said while opening the microwave. I put the popcorn in a bowl and went on the couch to watch After.

While watching the movie I hear a text go off I  check to see if its my phone but there is no notifications so I look to see what it was and I saw my dads phone go off. I opened the phone and saw a text from someone called bae "ohhhhh whos the lucky girl." My dad finally comes out of the bathroom and asks me "Amber who are you taking to and is that my phone?"  " So dad whos the lucky girl?"  Before my dad said anything to me he  grabbed his phone out of my hand.

"No one" dad said while shoving his phone in his pocket and headed to the front door.

"Where are you going?" I said getting off the couch. " I have a date." Dad said 

"Oh ok whos the girl?" dad didn't reply and just left me with a lot of questions. I turned off the tv and went to do my home work after trying to do the simplest math problems I stopped because there was so much questions that I wanted answers. I keep telling myself just wait for dad to come home to ask him but its useless so I lay down on the couch and close my eyes.
