New York. Isn't this where all the immigrants and tourists come so they can have that new found freedom? Isn't this where people come to fulfill their dreams. Hopefully I'll find a normal life here but first things first was finding a place to stay. I only had 340 after paying a guy for a ride to New York.
I went in a Starbuck's and sat in the very back. I took a newspaper from a nearby empty table and began to look through the classifieds for a room and job.
I was there for at least an hour before I was interrupted. I sighed thinking it was management telling me to leave because I didn't purchase anything.
"Hello. "
I looked up. He definitely didn't work here. He was at least six feet tall. Skinny build but he looked fit and tight. He had bright hazel eyes, sharp nose and full pink lips. For such a skinny build he had really large pecs that could be seen through his tight black tshirt. His arms were bulging with muscles. I looked down to his cargo pants covered groin area.
He was definitely packing. It was causing a very thick prominent outline to show through his jeans.
He cleared his throat and I looked up quickly embarrassed. He only smiled at me showing a pair of gleaming white straight teeth.
"John."
"Rain. "
"Really, that's beautiful. Rain... It just flows off the tongue. "
"Yeah, I guess. "
"So I noticed you were sitting in a coffee shop with no coffee. So..... I thought I'd be a good samaritan and bring you a white chocolate mocha frappechino."
It was then I noticed the two coffee's in his hands.
"May I sit down.?"
"Y..yes."
He sat and passed me a cup. I took it wearily never have trying Starbuck's. I told him so and he mock gaped at me in shock.
"There's at least twenty four on every block how can you not have had one. "
I laughed heartily. He sure was a comedian.
"One I'm from Los Angeles so New York chain stores aren't lining the streets where I'm from and two I can't see myself paying 9.00 for a coffee. I'm kinda on a budget. "
"That's no good I have to take you to see the sites. "
I looked up mid sip. No he did not just offer to take me out. I shook my head no. Fresh start Rain, fresh start.
"I really can't. I just came here today and I don't have a place yet, or a job. I need ...."
"I got a place for you and I'll put a word in as far as the job. Anything else?"
I looked at him like he was crazy.
"You think I'm gonna live with you?"
"I'm mean your more then welcome to but no that's not what I meant I work at a hotel, live there too. I can get you a room. Adjoining mine if you like. "
He wagged his eyebrows. I laughed again at his sense of humor.
"Um, can I see it before accepting."
He stood holding his arm out for me to link my into then slung my duffle bag over his shoulder.
--------;----------;---------;-------
The Stone hotel. It was massive.
He showed me a room on the sixth floor. The room could've easily fit four people comfortably it was so lavish.
