Hey y'all. Not much of an author note this week, but here we are.

TW - Homophobic slurs

(Just a reminder - there are other topics that some readers might find triggering, but I'm only putting trigger warnings for certain things in each chapter–the rest are listed at the beginning.)

He woke up warm, the familiar comfort of his blanket and Harley's arm around him. A smile grew on his face as he laid there for a minute.

Harley must've carried him to his room last night after the movie. Sunlight streamed through the big window. It felt like it would be a good day.

Peter shifted slightly, accidentally waking Harley up.

"Hey, darlin'," Harley mumbled, his voice deeper and scratchier after having just woken up. It made Peter smile even wider.

"Hi." After stretching slightly, Peter collapsed back down on top of Harley. Harley wrapped both arms around him, hugging the boy close.

They laid like that for a bit, not talking, just enjoying the moment.

After a few minutes though, Peter spoke up. "Let's go get breakfast; I'm hungry."

Harley sighed, squeezed his eyes shut, and tightened his arms around the smaller boy on top of him. "But I don't want to get up."

"Harley," Peter whined, dragging out the word. He tried to wriggle out of his grasp, but couldn't. To be fair he didn't try very hard either.

Harley laughed, opening up his eyes. He looked at Peter for a second before kissing him. Peter immediately stopped struggling and kissed back. After a moment, Peter broke away.

"Can we get food now?" Peter asked, smiling.

Harley laughed again. "Yeah."

He let go of Peter, who got up and groaned as he sat up and stretched. Harley went to his room to get ready while Peter got dressed.

Once Peter was ready, he went to the kitchen to get breakfast. It was eleven, which meant everyone had already gotten their breakfast. The Avengers all woke up decently early. Thor was the only one who slept past ten.

Harley was already in the kitchen, and they settled for a snack until lunch. Harley had to do actual work today, so he reluctantly left. Not without a hug and kiss from Peter though.

For a few hours, Peter worked in the lab with Tony and played video games with Clint and Sam. Working with Tony was one of his favorite things. Tony was like a father figure for him and him having guardianship had nothing to do with it.

Once three o'clock rolled around though, he was getting hungry. He wasn't sure where Steve was and didn't feel like cooking, so he just decided to get a sandwich from Delmars instead.

He told Clint and Sam where he was going before he left, but not Tony. Tony would've had Happy drive him, and he just wanted to walk today. It was a pretty nice day out.

Peter put his earbuds in and walked along the bustling sidewalk. He was focused on the music, not really paying attention to the people around him.

The sun was warm against his skin, but not hot. There was a light breeze blowing by. The smell of fresh bread and cookies wafted out of a small bakery on his way, and he debated going in to get some.

He moved on though, looking forward to getting one of Delmar's sandwiches, which were always good, and getting to see Delmar.

That's when everything went wrong: when he briefly paused at the bakery. He took about three steps forward before he was grabbed roughly and pulled into an alleyway. He couldn't see who it was by the back of their head, but they dragged him into a more hidden backstreet.
