Kumquat Island finally comes into view and Nessie lets me off on the docks. Calling Nessie back I head to the Pokémon Center and ask where I can find the Kumquat Gym. She directs me to a hotel near the docks. I enter and go up to the reception desk. "Hello, I was told that this is the Kumquat Gym and I would like to challenge the Gym Leader."

"One minute." The reception leaves and I wait for them to come back. After a few minutes the receptions came out and with a lady with red hair followed behind them. "So you came to challenge the Kumquat Gym?"

"Yes, ma' am. The names Xavier."

"Well, Xavier I am Luana the Gym Leader here. Follow me and we can get this battle underway." Following Luana to a battlefield and wait for her to tell her rules. "We will have a double battle, do you still accept?"

"I accept."

"Alright Alakazam, Marowak time to battle."

"Psychic and ground. Okay Nexus and Maren I choose you." Nexus scared the referee when he appeared from out under my hat. "Maren rainy day and Nexus shadow ball on Alakazam."

"I don't think so psychic on that shadow ball and Marowak boomerang." Shadow ball was stopped but Maren was able to set off rainy day and weakened Marowak and Maren was hit with Marowaks boomerang attack. "Maren acid armor then hydro pump, Nexus phase and use dark pulse." Maren and Nexus vanished from sight. Nexus appeared under Alakazam and sent it flying with dark pulse and Maren appeared above Marowak and launched a powerful water attack. "Alakazam and Marowak are unable to battle. The victory goes to the Challenger Xavier Loveless."

"Return Alakazam and Marowak. You did amazing take a long nice rest. I have to say Xavier it has been a while since I have run into a strong trainer like you."

"My Pokémon and I trained for two months straight before we took part in the Indigo League. I'm glad that a gym leader recognize the hard training we put in."

"That you did indeed. So, here the Jade-Star badge, and let me guess this is your last badge you need before challenging Drake."

"Yes, ma' am. We'll train some before heading off to Pummelo Island and challenge Drake."

"Good luck. Drake is tough and not one to take lightly. Thank you for the great battle." Shaking hands I head out for the Pokémon Center and have Nurse Joy look over Maren and Nexus. While they are being looked over, I check my emails and reply to Lance, Rudy, and Lorelei's email. I stay the night at the Pokémon Center, then leave the next day. While riding to Pummelo Island we stop on an unnamed island and allowed us to train.

I focus on Lumi, Helia, and Nessie wanting to use Lumi and Nessie against Drake. As for my other four Pokémon I want to use Nexus and Kaida and for the last two Pokémon, I have no idea. As of now I am using a electric, ghost, poison, water, ice, dragon, and flying. Prism would be the best bet and Dante but I don't know about having two water types. Even if Dante is part water he does have the rock type and quad weak to grass but Nexus can take care of the grass Pokémon. Alright let's get this training underway. "Lumi and Prism mock battles, Nexus and Kaida, Dante and Maren, and Nessie and Cove you are together. Helia I'll work with you." Everyone went to start their mock battles till lunch and I take Helia near a small clearing and see what she can do with her attacks. After demonstrating them I have her try building up power in the attacks she knows.

Once lunch was getting near there was a commotion coming near the ocean, but when I tried to leave Helia grabbed onto my coat not letting me leave. "Helia I need to see what's going on."

"Chaarr. Charmander Charrrr."

"Please Helia, why don't you come with me?" We leave to see that some attacks from Lumi and Nexus misfired and hit Maren and Dante. Making sure they are alright I tell them accidents happen but they need to be careful and mindful of their surrounding. I go and fix lunch but Helia won't let me go. "I'm not going anywhere Helia." But no matter what I said Helia clung to my coat. Luna done the same thing when I first caught her. She would cling to me and refuse to go inside her Pokeball. After time when she realized that I was not going to abandon her she finally released me, but keeps a close eye at where I was at. I was surprised she didn't come with me to the Orange Islands. At the same time she probably didn't expect me to be gone so long. I know when I get back she won't let me out of her sight, for quite a while.
