Speaking to classmates was a rarity. It wasn't something you typically did. You had friends that you spoke to at school but none of them really associated with you outside of class. It felt new and foreign to have someone sending you messages at all, let alone so casually.
Taehyun: Hellloooooo
Taehyun: How was school???
He would ask every single day and that one question would lead to a bigger discussion. Sometimes it was about something you'd learned or something you'd seen in class. Sometimes it was about his filming schedule. You'd been enjoying your text conversations lately and they'd made you feel lighter and less burdened by the weight of maturity that you'd taken on.
Taehyun was a bit eager, it seemed, and had messaged you before school had even ended. You slid your phone back into your bag as you listened to the last few minutes of your teachers lecture.
You heard your phone buzzing in your bag as you attempted to listen to your teacher but instead your mind wandered. When school finally ended, you pulled your phone from your bag.
Taehyun: Leaving me on read?
Taehyun: When I'm bored?
Taehyun: Ouch...
You: Class wasn't over yet. Seems you're becoming a big eager.
Taehyun: Oopsie...?
Taehyun: Anyways, what's for dinner today?
You: Pork chops.
Taehyun: Fancy~
You: Sure. Fancy.
Taehyun: Fancier than cup ramen.
You: I'll give it that.
Taehyun: Cook for me one day, will you?
You: Cooking takes so much time...
Taehyun: I'd say 'allow me to cook for you' but that won't work out unless you want a killer cup of ramen...
You: You'd think since you're in a TV show, they'd feed you better.
Taehyun: Alas, instead they give me a paycheque and I decide to spend it on cup ramen...
You: Ahh, the freedom of cup ramen.
Taehyun: Be sure to watch where you're going! Don't get too distracted.
You: Do you think I'm an amateur? I've prepared meals while holding two children at the same time. I'm practically a professional multitasker.
Taehyun: Well, walking and texting is completely different from holding children and cooking.
You: I can type with my eyes closed.
Taehyun: That seems even more dangerous.
You: The way I see it, you're simply encouraging this behaviour.
Taehyun: Fine then. Text me when you get home safely
As he sent that message, you shoved your phone into your pocket and prepared to approach the elementary school.
When Seohyun and Seojun saw you, they had their usual excited faces. Seohyun eagerly told you about her day as you walked, and Seojun divulged a little information, saving most of it for when your dad got home. When the two had pulled out their home books and started on homework, you texted Taehyun again, a smile making its way onto your face.
