“I’ll give you ten dollars to not tell anyone about what happened just now.” Akaashi sighed in pure defeat.
“Deal.” Kenma grinned.
Whatever courage he had built up was quickly defeated when he spotted Kenma smirking at him. Bitch.
Just then, he spotted Kageyama walking over. Kageyama had been amazing during practice, just as he remembered. His tosses had been accurate and precise, receives clean, serves almost impossible to receive. And yet- he was still fine. He looked as good as ever.
“Kageyama.” He nodded, greeting the raven-haired boy. Kageyama nodded as well, grinning.
“Was that ten dollars I saw being passed to Kenma? Probably to keep him from saying something right?” Kageyama tilted his head.
“…mmhf..” Akaashi replied helpfully.
“No matter whether you give him money or not, he never says anything regardless. He isn’t one to spill secrets.” Kageyama smiled. Akaashi’s heart broke. Oh…so his ten dollars were sacrificed for nothing…
“No worries, Akaashi. I can lend you money if you need to get home or buy dinner. My parents left me more money today.” Kageyama smiles, reaching for his wallet. Akaashi stops him, however, money isn’t what he wanted from this at all.
“Bokuto-San wanted to talk to you after practice. So does Oikawa, but I figured Bokuto was more important to you.” Kageyama states, and Akaashi feels his face flare up again.
“Right, yes. Yes, okay. I’ll-yeah. Talk. Um, where do I meet him again?” He stammers.
“Under the cherry-blossom tree! He says he wants to confess to you! Good luck!!” Kageyama replies.
UNDER THE WHAT???
“WAIT. What? I’m sorry, could you repeat that?” Akaashi almost-screamed.
“He says he wants to meet you at the locker room, because he needs to clear something up with you.”Kageyama replies, ever so patient.
Fuck. Akaashi thinks, he’s screwed. His imagination will be the death of him. He’s done.
But he still find himself thanking Kageyama and walking to the locker room, because his legs hate himself.
