Y/N POV
I woke up on the first day of November and if it wasn't for all the wrappings you wouldn't be able to tell my leg had been smashed the night before. It felt slightly stiff but considering what happened that wasn't too bad.
"Oh, you're finally awake." Madam Pomfrey said. "I'm afraid you will have to stay here for at least another day. We can't have you walking about with a leg in that shape."
"How long do you realistically think I'll have to stay here?" I questioned.
"At the most 3 days, but probably two. Is there anything I can get you for breakfast?"
"I'll just have some toast please."
"I won't be long so don't you go back to sleep."
I sat up in the bed getting ready for food when my thoughts turned to yesterday. I was still seriously angry at Ron but at least he seemed regretful when he saw that Hermione was upset. I was hoping that maybe the experience would stop them from arguing and at a stretch make them talk to each other. But I wasn't holding out much hope. The most surprising thing about last night however was the seeming worry Snape showed for me. Considering how hostile he usually is to most people it was definitely a surprise when the first thing he did was come over and help me. My dad must have done something to help him which meant he wants to treat me with some respect. I definitely wasn't going to say no to getting better treatment than most from apparently one of the most vicious people in the school.
By now, Madame Pomfrey had reentered the room holding a plate of toast. I thanked her and began eating when I remembered that today was the day of Harry's first Quidditch match. I was really hoping that I would be able to go watch it. But that seemed unlikely now.
"Madam Pomfrey, this might seem stupid but I was wondering if I might be able to watch the Quidditch match today." I asked.
"Mr L/N I think your priority should be on letting your leg recover, not going to watch a Quidditch game."
"Well, you see my friend made it on the team and it's his first game. I think he would like if it I was there to watch." I pleaded.
"It's nice to see that you care so much about your friends but your leg needs to heal."
"What about if its in good enough shape? I will make sure to be careful and won't do anything stupid and I'll come right back afterwards."
She sighed after hearing my insistence.
"We'll see how it is when the time comes. But if I think it's too risky you won't be going."
"Thank you, it means a lot." I said with glee.
"Only, if I think you are capable." she repeated sternly.
I calmed myself knowing that I might not even be able to go.
Hermione POV
I woke up early as usual but was saddened when I realised that Y/N wouldn't be coming down. At least I was on better on terms with Harry and Ron now so I had people to talk to. When Harry came down he looked like a bit of a wreck. Then a bit unexpectedly Ron came over to me with Harry at his side.
"Can you please tell him that he's going to be fine in the match today?" Ron asked
"Harry you're going to be great, they wouldn't let just anyone on the team. Especially a first year, you must be really good. You'll do fine." I said trying to reassure him.
Unfortunately it seemed as if my words had little affect on him because he still looked very nervous. After I spoke, Ron took Harry over to Fred and George probably to try and get them to sort Harry out. I turned my attention back to my book and began to read. However it wasn't long before I began to hear mutters which piqued my interest.
