MATURE-ISH!

It's been a little under a month, but it's Thanksgiving. Mazikieen was seven months into pregnancy and doing good. She and Alex had spent some platonic time together and never talked about what happened that night. The girls are nineteen months( A year and seven months), and couldn't be happier.

Caroline found out that she's carrying Jo and Alaric's twins. Caroline and Mazikeen have been close, as she has also been with Damon. Alaric avoids her at all costs, which she understands. Her baby-daddy killed his almost-wife, and maybe, twins.

But, as previously said, it's Thanksgiving, so Mazikeen is cooking for her, the twins, the twins inside her, Alex, Caroline, and Stefan. Yesterday, they had dinner with their mother, so today they're having a happy day together. Damon stopped by to see Mazikeen and the twins, who he loves holding. They have a habit of poking his eyes.

But, while all this was happening, New Orleans was a disaster zone. Klaus, Elijah, sat at the heads, Tristan, Aurora, and Lucien, at the sides, were sitting around a table eating.

Elijah spoke to them. "Well, you know, Lucien, I rather enjoy Thanksgiving. The turkey, the cranberry sauce, the lies, the deceit, the betrayal. Perhaps we should begin this evening's proceedings with a little confession. And, do help yourselves."

The only girl speaks up. "So, this entire dinner is meant to be some boorish inquisition? How rude."

"Nonsense," Klaus denies as he leans forward

"Nonsense," Klaus denies as he leans forward. "My brother merely wishes to make certain we're all on the same page. So, who would like to begin?"

"Well, Lucien and I have always loathed each other. Had we arrived as allies with news of a bleak future, you would've doubted us. We sought to remove suspicion by maintaining appearances," Tristan explains.

Elijah sarcastically pipes up. "Oh, my dear. These pathetic lies promise to be as difficult to swallow as your stuffing this year, Niklaus. Walnuts, honestly"

Everyone, minus Klaus, share a laugh but he adds in. "It's not my recipe, brother, and if you insult Luna like that again, there will be a dagger in your future."

Aurora bits back a laughs, seeing as she thinks she killed the blonde. "Bottom line is, we came to protect you, and ourselves," Lucien tells. "We have never wavered on this point."

"And the bodies on my streets? Is that your 'protection', as well?"

He waves around his wine. "It's business as usual for the Strix."

"An old tactic used often, and to great success. Jack the Ripper, Son of Sam. A frightened human populace is that much easier to control. If tourism should decline, local vampires are deprived of fresh blood...Well, you saw how quickly Marcel joined our ranks."
