Chapter 3

-Day 1 <Rivaille Pov>-

         I woke up early to get stuff around and breakfast made for everyone. When I was leaving the room I stopped and looked at Jack and observed him. I'd notice that he had black short hair with bangs that covered his forehead and not his ears. His skin was pale and unmarked meaning he had no scratches, bruises, cuts or scars. His ears were kinda big but fitted his look with big eyes that have short and thick eyelashes. 

   He turned in his sleep facing me and slowly opened his eyes and yawed awake. "H-huh oh good morning Ri" he said tiredly. I whispered back in response, "Sorry to wake you. I was on my way to cook breakfast and get stuff around for the day and probably go out for a morning lookout, would you like to join me and help make breakfast for everyone?". Jack's eyes flew open and smiled then jumped out of bed, "Yeah!" he replied. "Alrighty then lets go" I said, making a hand movement to get him to follow me. 

   We walked to the kitchen and decided we'll make pancakes for everyone, as we made pancakes we talked and I got to know more about Jack as he got to know more of me. I asked him some simple questions, nothing too personal but just enough for him to open up to me like he did to Kiki and Chris already. As we finished up we saw some sleepy faces and some crazy morning hair. "Rise and shine everyone after breakfast Jack and I are gonna go out on a morning look out so Kameron please hold down the fort". 

   I announced as everyone yawned and Kameron shook her head awake. "Wait so you're telling me that I gotta watch a twenty three year old and some brats?!" Kameron said angrily and glared at me coldly. "That's right, grumpy butt" I replied calmly, I heard her click her tongue when I turned around to pass around plates. I saw Jack hiding on the floor from Kameron's yelling. "You okay there?" I asked questionly. "Huh Oh yeah" he stood up, "okay just making sure" i replied. Everyone ate then Jack and I got ready to go on our morning patrol to make sure no monsters were nearby and possibly find more resources or people. We made sure we had water, weaponry, and our radios to communicate with each other if we got separated, also some medical stuff before we left.

     Twenty minutes later we were heading towards town, we hadn't seen any monsters yet but we found some car batteries and some tools that Kiki could use. "RI! I FOUND SOMETHING!" I heard Jack yell, he was in a half collapsed building that had giant pink oval rocks in them. "Wait Jack. Don't. Move." I said quietly realizing that they weren't rocks, they were Eggs!. "Jack Don't Touch Anything just walk over to me" I looked up and saw a whole in the roof with one of the monsters looking right at Jack getting ready to pounce. 

  The hideous creature looked like it was half anaconda and half black jaguar, it's upper body was like a jaguar and the rest was like an anaconda. "Shit" I thought to myself, I saw the jaguanconda move its giant front paw getting ready to jump, at this moment I pushed Jack into the other direction and at the same time the monster jumped crashing me into the wall with its large tail, breaking my left arm and our radios. "JACK RUN BACK TO BASE AND NEVER LOOK BACK" I yelled and ran after I cut the monster with an army knife I had in my pant leg. 

  The creature howled and looked at me with hunger and a pissed look in its eyes and expression. I quickly got out my gun and shot the beast multiple times in the head or wherever I shot. When the beast died it slid into the eggs causing them to fall and break. After that I ran back to the bunker holding my left arm, when I arrived Kiki let me in and when I entered the main room Kameron was yelling at Jack and had some bruises on him. Zander, Chris, Kiki and Kam all ran to me leaving Jack in the corner crying quietly. Everyone asked me if I was okay and Kameron said that we have to get rid of Jack because he ran back here and didn't try to help you. "I told him too, Kam, and yes I'm okay my left arm is just broken and why is Jack covered in bruises?" I explained and questioned. 

   Kameron explained why the crying boy was covered in bruises. When she finished I looked down and looked over at Jack and walked over to him, rubbing his head I told him everything is okay and that Kameron is sorry for beating him up. He looked up at me with his red puffy eyes and scratched up face and hugged me around my neck saying sorry. I hugged back and took him back to the room to calm down and rest up. After that I just told everyone else to go back to what they were doing and Zander helped me with my arm. Then after we ate we all went to bed trying to calm down from the rush of events.
