Chapter 1 & Background

Background:

 It was a rainy night in the city of Greenwich, lights flickering, cars in nonstop traffic, and dogs barking just like any normal night in the city. Somewhere outside the city is a secret lab that has changed history forever for the city of Greenwich. Monsters were created by accident and are now roaming the streets for human flesh. The citizens of the city are going to be in fear for the rest of their lives until a solution is found.

Chapter 1

-New Friends-

             It was the middle of the summer, when hope had risen for someone who lived in the city, that was in horrifying condition due to the terrible accident that happened months ago. The person was a teen boy who was 16 that worked very hard to survive and defend himself in this terrible situation. He had no family and no friends, he hopes that there are other people that are still alive and not just him. As weeks and months passed the teenage boy still alone but is now running for his life because one of the monsters has seen him trying to find food in a convenience store.

                 Suddenly a loud bang came from the top of a nearby building, shooting the hideous monster down. A group of five peered over the edge of the building, the leader of the group of five was calm, quick thinking and a bit mysterious; he jumped over the edge and landed on the fire escape then shortly after one the other four followed him. 

         They all came down after the other and approached the teenage boy. "Hey! You okay kid, you were almost eaten... Well I don't see anything wrong with ya-", the leader said as the group surrounded him. "Hey Rivaille! Can he join?! He must be so scared and alone!", a short brunette with matching braids on each side of her head asking the leader, who was apparently named Rivaille. 

    "Kiki calm down, don't shout your gonna attract more of those monsters then we'll all be dead, also I told you to just call me Ri '', he spoke calmly but also coldly to the preppy brunette named Kiki. "Ri dontcha think you were a little cold to Kiki '', a charming man said with a small grin that was filled with trouble. The teenage boy just stood there as the group made small talk with each other. "Hey brat! Are ya gonna answer or are ya gonna stay mute?", a girl with short hair and an undercut, barked at the boy getting his attention. 

       "I- um... Sorry. Yes I'm fine, thank you for saving me...Who are you people?", the boy squeaked out. "Well first off no problem and secondly I'm Rivaille just call me Ri, and miss hyper braids over there is Kiki". Kiki put up peace signs and smiled when the boy faced her. "And Mr. trouble over there is Christopher-",before Ri could finish Christopher interrupted him. "Chris for short and I'm not that much of a trouble maker! I just like to have fun! "he said, pouting as Ri glared at him.  "Like as I was saying, the one who barked at you is Kameron.... Try not to get her mad... trust me it ain't pretty when you get Kam mad".   Everyone nodded rapidly at that moment. "Got that right, just ask pretty boy over there!". 

         Kam was referring to Chris in the last part. "And finally our giant book worm, who works with all the medicine is Zander", when Ri said Zander's name he looked up from his medical book and pushed up his round glasses and smiled and went back to reading. "So what's your name we've told you all of our names", Kiki piped in with a smile. "Oh- my name?...well it's Jack and nice to meet you guys... could I possibly join your squad?" Jack asked Rivaille and the rest of the group not wanting to be alone anymore. "Sure Jack. Welcome to the squad now follow us to our bunker".  Rivaille said with a welcoming smile then everyone started to run back to the fire escape but this time with Jack following close behind.
