Chapter 1

June 3rd 2020

Clique087 joined your live

"Who's this?" My younger sister asked, stopping her dance to peak at the lit phone.

I reached over the brown leather couch and grabbed the phone to look at the "Viewing" amount of people on our Instagram Live.

Two people were watching.

I knew the first person that was watching us. She was a close friend of mine. My best friend, India, who stayed to support and celebrate this meaningless night with us. However, the second person I was not sure of. We must have followed each other for the heck of it (probably to raise our following). I tapped their profile with half of my face being viewed on the live.

"Hmm you oddly look familiar.... clique087?" I muttered out loud.

Before they could respond Thriller by Michael Jackson started playing and my sister shot up and started following the dance moves showed on the big flat screen TV. My attention shifted from the phone to her figure dancing along furiously with passion in ever step.

"Look at her" I smiled as I sat the phone back on the coffee table stand that faced the center of the dim living room. She focused on the TV, trying to mirror the movement on the TV not stealing a glance at the phone.

"You should join in lol"-Clique087

I shook my head and giggled. "Absolutely not" I responded to his comment.

"whyyyy"-Clique087

I flipped my golden-brown hair sideways allowing the locks of hair to pass through my fingers.

"It's just not really my thing, I look bad when I dance" I smiled lightly watching Kaylinn frail her hands in the hair.

"I doubt that"-Clique087

Present time

Looking back at the first time I met him it felt like a dream. He was amazing and sweet. We talked later that night I recall. That's when I found about molly. His girlfriend.

I should have let things go from there, but I didn't. Don't ask me why because I genuinely don't know. I thought things would have faded off after a week or two, but it didn't. We continued to talk and get close. Too close, now that I look back at it all.

"Hey, Katherine we are about to visit Grandma Gwen, so get ready" My stepmom yelled from the living room.

I groaned and placed my phone back on the bed stretching across the bottom bunk. Kaylinn used to sleep on the top but ever since my Step-Brother, Cameron,   got put in a behavioral center she took over his room for the time being.

"Alright" I yelled back.

I got up and searched through my hung up clothes that was being held by a long meddle pole that stretched from one peached colored wall to another. I shuffled through each article of clothing coming up with an outfit idea in my head as I searched.

Plain yellow short sleeved crop top with a pear of jeans will do.

I loved this yellow shirt. I got it a few months ago from the thrift store along with a black crop top with the word "cox" written in red across the cotton shirt. I kind of find it weird to wear the black shirt out in my town because there was a boy in 8th grade that had a bad reputation for his playboy like personality...his name? Ashton Cox. it's a small town so everyone knows everyone else. Welcome to Urbana.

I shook my head to get the thought out and shifted my focus on getting ready.

I shuffled on the jeans and pulled the top over my head. I stopped to look in the mirror to see what I should do with my newly dyed blonde hair. I didn't even attempt to brush it and threw the tangled mess in a messy bun.
